Texas Commits in Action – Regional Semis Round

Recommended Posts

Katy, North Shore set for rematch

The number of Texas commits in the playoffs was reduced this week. Top recruit Bijan Robinson and Salpointe Catholic lost to powerful Chandler this week though Robinson did get more than 100 yards rushing. Texas' 2020 class has its first state champion as Van Fillinger and the Corner Canyon Chargers defeated American Fork for the Utah state title last weekend.

This week, a game most of the state will have its eyes fixed on will be the rematch of #2 Katy and #5 GP North Shore at NRG Stadium. Duncanville may finally get challenged, meeting 1-loss Arlington Martin. In class 5A, Highland Park will meet #1 Frisco Lone Star in what promises to be a mega battle.

If you're looking for small school game to follow with excitement, check out powerful Shiner and Refugio. The winner should be a shoe in for the overall title.

How about those Daingerfield Tigers beating Newton?

I wasn't expecting that.

Daingerfield now faces Paul Pewitt, a team they beat by 4 pts earlier this year (same district). Daingerfield and Pewitt are the only two schools in Morris County, one of the smallest counties in Texas.

Its always tough to beat a team twice in a season, especially one as good as Pewitt. Should be a dandy. Both teams have about a 15-mile road trip. lol
