I can't keep explaining the difference between realistic and unrealistic offers, though.

You keep pointing to 15 other guys, many of which the staff doesn't even speak with, but won't tell anyone who the real target is even though it's July. That'd be pretty odd to not have a solid plan in place by now, right?

On Sexton, you implied you knew what happened there, but I guess that's not the case.

I won't speak to y'alls discussion but there are always late bloomers every year. Especially on the OLine. Perhaps they have their eye on someone that will show up this fall.

Yes, as things stand, it's looking like Texas will have to go after some options not on the board currently.

That will be even more true if Banks doesn't pick Texas tomorrow.

Time to break out the DCTF

I don't think Williams stays long at Oregon either. Must have been sunny and warm when he visited, but nothing like Duncanville, Texas during football season.  Early PT is more likely at UT.  Oregon already has 14 tackles and 3 new commits. I think he just got some negative input from someone who felt he wasn't treated good enough at Texas. We're just going to have to start upping the ante from an F-350 to a Hummer.

Oregon has 14 OTS same number as Texas has OL all positions.

Some one mentioned DCTF mag. Fall lssue Rising should be quite interesting.

Some say Karic was a late riser but DCTF was on him allthe time.

Most I have gotten from thisdiscussion is. If Texas does get a commitment fron at least one Banks or Campbell  badat blackrock. And even if they get onethere is still a long way to go. Andwill be huntingother fish to fry.

Come December happy or sad? Betting on top ten class.

If its a top 10 class, then it will be closer to 10. We've got a place kicker and deep snapper in this class holding our ranking down.

I respect both parties in the great OL debate and appreciate both your contributions

A couple thoughts:

One is assuming the staff knows what they are doing and the other is questioning whether they know what they are doing.

Cristobal at Wisconsin was know for having leading rushers like Dayne and others.  Could he prefer a bigger lineman that is run first over Flood/SS that also want to pass?

How many OL does the staff want to sign?  I agree I would like to see 5 or even 6 in light of last year, but uncertain what SS thinks.

Flood and SS are human.  Don't know what Cam told them, but it could have altered their thinking on Sexton and they could have made a mistake.  No way to tell.   Alternatively, they may know enough about Devon and Banks that they feel ok that they didn't want to 'stretch' on a fifth OL (I know little about OL qualifications so please don't take it as an insult to Sexton as much as a theory).  I am going to be an optimist and assume it is a good sign with Banks because the alternative is too disturbing.

I doubt we will ever know for a fact what the answer is I am so surprised by the rhetoric, but appreciate the analysis.  That is why i keep coming back here:  Good info and thoughts.

Seems like one of the kicker or deep snapper does not count not sure.

At six spot now Texas will have to sign a lot of three stars to drop much. I am betting on two more five stars.

If Banks commits, we'll move up two spots.

Recruiting rankings mean absolutely nothing to me as long as they can get the best possible players they can to win.  If that means they pick a lot of 3 stars that are underrated then so be it.  With that said, I want Banks and Campbell on the OL and they happen to be 5 star recruits.

One thing I'm completely baffled by is recruits at key positions not jumping in the Longhorn boat.  I understand Texas had problems developing players with former staffs, but didn't they just go out and hire the guy that developed OL for the NFL?  And didn't they just hire a guy that led Bama to their most productive offense in years and had a Heisman winner at WR?  I figured OL and WR would be easier than it has been.  I know if I was at one of those positions I would be calling them for a spot.  I get it, Bama has put OL into the NFL, but surely the OL coach had something to do with it.

I think Sark's staff has enough street cred. They have produced.

Between the negative recruiting and having to live with a bad reputation from the past regimes, this staff has to work hard to get where they want to be.

The hard work will start paying off.

I predict the fish will be jumping in the boat if we can start the season undefeated and after we beat OU.

- OrangeBloods is expecting DT KJ Miles of Jersey City, NJ to pick Georgia Tech tomorrow.

- They feel CB Xavion Brice of Arlington Seguin will commit to Oklahoma.

- WR CJ Williams of Santa Ana, CA is making some sort of announcement tomorrow, and it's expected to be Notre Dame if he's committing.
