UTfish
I don't think we should worry too much about commitments now. It doesn't mean what it used to. With all the new rules, commitment will be on a daily basis. Win and they'll come. Lose and they're gone.
Eastexhorn
On MM #11 ranking that was at Elite 11 QB competion. Texas HS had three in top four. Ewers was forth. I belive they are rated only on passing running ability does not figure in. I am happy with MM he hasmore room to be coached up than theothers IMO Texas HS players get better coaching than other states on the average. Then there are the HS that recruit players to figure on. 83Dee

Correct that is just one category. He's ranked only 11th. Cade Klubnik who just may end of being the best QB. Ewers is 4th which I hope he drops. NO. 11 MAALIK MURPHY, TEXAS COMMIT 247Sports Composite Ranking: Four-star, 0.9668, No. 8 QB. 10COMMENTS High School: Gardena (Calif.) Juniperro Serra. Height, Weight: 6-foot-4 1/2, 225 pounds. Thoughts through three days: Murphy was sharp in the morning's target session but was just ok in the Invitational and the 7v7 jamboree. Still, his target challenge performance was impressive, with the Texas verbal flashing his big arm, looking accurate and poised, and finishing tied for fourth in the challenge. https://247sports.com/LongFormArticle/elite-11-2021-finals-rankings-quinn-ewers-cade-klubnik-drew-allar-conner-weigman-devin-brown-football-recruiting-quarterbacks-167335986/#167335986_1

As for your last sentence, it appears your opinion of this staff's decisions are rather low. Again, why run one guy off UNTIL AFTER you have the other guy in hand? That just makes no sense and I think our staff is smarter than that. Hopefully you can see where your statements are getting pretty confusing. You claim Williams wasn't a big target for the staff, but you can't speak on what the plan is now at RT. If you have inside info on Sexton about why the staff dropped him that nobody else knows about, then why keep asking me why the staff didn't wait? If the decision didn't have anything to do with Williams and Sexton wasn't going to a Longhorn no matter what, then why was it important for the staff to wait? As for your first question, you should know that throwing offers out to a bunch of five-star OL across the country doesn't mean that any of them will be attainable or primary targets. How many of the OT offers on the board are realistic? How many of them will even visit? Using that as a way to minimize Williams' importance isn't sincere, and I gave a pretty solid example of why the staff may have waited to offer in my previous post. I think the staff made a miscalculation on Williams which led to turning Sexton away, but that doesn't affect my opinion that I think they'll recruit well. Well, you must realize that I am not on staff nor am I privy to their meetings, etc., so neither of us know the answer you're looking for. I don't have to claim Williams wasn't a big target – that much is. spelled out for you by the staff and Sark himself. If you have a primary target, you don't offer him last out of 15 offers. That, to me, really isn't confusing at all. If you can explain how you DO wait and offer your primary target deep into the recruiting season after you've made sweet with 14 others – I'm all ears. What would your wife have done if you told her she came in 15th place?

You keep pointing to 15 other guys, many of which the staff doesn't even speak with, but won't tell anyone who the real target is even though it's July. That'd be pretty odd to not have a solid plan in place by now, right? On Sexton, you implied you knew what happened there, but I guess that's not the case. Administrators TFloss32 Posted July 3, 2021 Administrators Report Share Posted July 3, 2021 And @Sirhornsalot, I forgot to mention that late offers to good prospects happen all the time for various reasons that aren't based on their ranking, or the order in which they were offered. We can cite many examples with Texas alone, like Quandre Diggs.

Administrators TFloss32 Posted July 3, 2021 Administrators Report Share Posted July 3, 2021 I don't usually copy/paste but, here's a post from IT to illustrate where Texas is at after missing on OL Cameron Williams. You can see clearly these won't be easy waters to navigate without new names popping up. The Cam Williams miss guarantees this staff will be evaluating film well into senior seasons, not so they can be diligent and say they did, but to be vigilant and fill needs. It also guarantees the staff will continue to play the long game with in-state and out-of-state long shots. It also becomes even more imperative, if that’s possible, they land Kelvin Banks and Devon Campbell. Remaining known targets besides Robertson and Hutson: OL Devon Campbell, Bowie (Arlington, TX): Texas is in a good spot currently. For your sake, hopefully the staff proves it can win an extremely hard fought recruitment for an elite before Campbell decides. OL Neto Umeozulu, Allen (Allen, TX): Long shot and Flood hasn’t proven to be Quigley Down Under while at Texas. OL Malik Agbo, Todd Beamer (Federal Way, WA): Long shot. OL Earnest Greene, St. John Bosco (Bellflower, CA): Longer shot. OT Kelvin Banks, Summer Creek (Humble, TX): The same written about Campbell goes for Banks. The only problem is he’s set to announce in three weeks and Jimbo Fisher has more experience as a head coach closing these types of recruitments out. OT Kam Dewberry, Atascosita (Humble, TX): Long shot. OT Josh Conerly Jr., Rainier Beach (Seattle, WA) Expect this list to expand in the coming months. By no means is it time to hit the panic button, but let’s see if these guys get more aggressive when it comes to offering and closing. Steve Sarkisian and Kyle Flood aren’t in Tuscaloosa anymore. If you're point is good, you don't need Play-Doh. Diggs was never a priority target at DB. His inside to Texas was being related to former Texas AA DB. I don't think there's any other way to put what you've said and what I've said. And I'm content with what I've said. You're free to believe what you want and I'm free to not follow your example. More repetition is just going to bore us both.

Well, if you start now, it will be your first time to explain. I'm sorry but you can cram as much lipstick on this pig as you like but you simply DON'T OFFER YOUR PRIORITY TARGET LAST AND LATE. There is no lipstick under the sun that will change this from being a pig. Repetition is not your friend because your best came yesterday. Everything else is just Hail Mary's with the same content that I disagree with. I'm going to guess you truly don't care that much about what I think. I'd be okay with that.
