Myck was freed and Rick Barnes must be praying that he can provide this team with a spark. Iowa State has a good team and Texas will need to play well to pull of the win.

 

Expectations for Kabongo to save the season should be quelled because it ain't happening folks. We can only hope to save face and finish the season strong.

Texas using a 16-0 run to take a 25-17 lead on Iowa State. Kabongo playing every minute thus far. He has 4 points.

If I didn't watch it with my own eyes I wouldn't believe it. Texas beats Iowa State in double overtime 89-86. This team looked played like fantastic tonight. They NEVER gave up, made clutch shots and hustled ALL NIGHT LONG.

 

Kabongo had a hell of a comeback, scoring 13 points and 7 assists.

 

Let's also give Connor Lammert HUGE props for a fine game. Connor scored 14 points and grabbed 6 rebounds. He was flying all over the court.

 

Lastly, Shelly McClellan whipped ass tonight. He had 18 points and 8 rebounds.

 

Game ball goes to Papapetrou for hitting the clutch 3 to send it into overtime.

I'm happy for the players on this team. They have struggled, but they haven't mailed it in. Happy they got to get a much needed win, and really happy that they came through in the clutch-time, which has plagued them all season long.

 

And I'm also happy about those pics of my future ex-wife, Miss Upton. Come to Butthead.

Kabongo did exactly what he needed to do. He got into the lane and opened up other shot-opportunities for the rest of the team. The offense is almost night and day when he's on the court and when he's on the bench. The Longhorns still need to work on rebounding and ball movement when Kabongo isn't on the floor. But he also helps elevate the confidence of the entire team.

If Kabongo can change the pace of the game in every game here on out, then we might play spoiler. It was really nice to see Lammert have a monster game too. The hustle was very apparent last night.
