One thing I read yesterday had Texas-Texas A$M as the annual conference matchup for both teams.

That was upsetting as I don't care about beating aggy near as much as I care about beating OU.

Texas and OU are renewing their agreement with the cotton bowl, which would mean they intend to play each other every year going forward.

You're assuming you have more optimism about this team than I do since I haven't made any statement about how good I think will be this year.

And I'm 72 years old and been married 50 years so I am pretty much past being insulted by anything or anyone. I mean I've pretty much reached the "I don't give a shit stage" ?

No, I wasn't assuming. I was going by you agreeing with AustinHorn's statement that this is a 7-8 win team. I can provide your quote, if you like.

I see us as much better than a 7-8 win team. So yes, I am more optimistic than you have stated you are.

I was just playing with scheduling and this is what it might look like as a home and away.

Next two years

Buckle up Guys and Gals. It's gonna be a hell of a ride.

And that doesn't include some of the OOC games we've scheduled, such as Michigan.

Here's @Austin Horn's actual quote.

We are 7-8 win team until proven otherwise.

Maybe I think we prove otherwise in 2023. Maybe I don't. I haven't said what I think either way.

But I can tell you that I have been a diehard Texas fan for going on 65 years now and every year I go into the season full of optimism. Without fail.

I wouldn’t say weakness on roster. What I’m saying is can this team win and play on a consistent basis and week to week.

Another thought, I had my doubts about PK after year one, but he dispelled those last year.

I’m tired of every offseason and saying this is the year and no excuses. Then we  keep making excuses. It’s prove it time. I remember in 2019 when I said this is the year.

Had Collin Johnson stayed healthy that year things might have been different but alas the defense hurt us as well. When four of your top 5 tacklers are DB's things are not going well.

Yes, that is the actual quote. The point was – you agreed with it.

247 had two team notes today...

- Sark has been working with the new special assistants on implementing an updated signals system for calling plays from the sideline. There were concerns after last season that a few teams, particularly Alabama and TCU, knew what was coming in certain situations. Chryst, DeCamillis and Saadat watched film and were able to confirm those suspicions.

- we shouldn't be seeing much of the jumbo package this year where the offense brings in an OL to be a blocking tight end like Andrej Karic did last year. The reason for that is the coaches wanting an extra WR on the field due to that room being so deep right now.

That’s insane

NCAA track and field National championship is this weekend at UT (started yesterday).  Women have a chance to win it all.  The set college record in 4x100 today in semis.  Swept field in qualifying for 100.  Men's decathlon lead by UT with one event left, 1500m.

Leo Neugebaur wins the decathalon with a collegiate record score of 8836, 8th best score all time (not just in college), would have been 2nd in the olympics in 2020. Really awesome stuff.

He hit personal bests in something like 5 of the events.
