Guys like Bo Davis and Kyle Flood don't seem like they aspire to be coordinators or HC. I get the sense with Choice as well but it's still early in his career so who knows. Compared to a guy like Brennan Marion, who clearly was looking for make the next step up the ladder when an opportunity came around. I never expected him to be at Texas longer than 1-2 years. Kyle Flood is our offensive coordinator (at least in title). That said, your point is well taken.

He is now at 246 lbs. – Sydir Mitchell is 6'6, 359 lbs. – Ethan Burke is 6'5, 250 now. – The freshman OL are huge. Stroh 365 lbs, Kirkland 367 lbs, Cojoe 350 lbs, Chatman 299 lbs. Tapp - what position is he expected to end up at? Ross - same question Burke - is this actual, or "football program weight?" If actual, very good news! Administrators TFloss32 Posted March 6 Administrators Report Share Posted March 6 Now that the school has published the spring roster, I updated the table with numbers and put it in the pinned thread as well. I have a total of 88 scholarship players, including the entire '23 class. Let me know if I've missed anything. https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/15O3a95gC3NAQOMoVyozL1Yrdqxd9d8Nh/edit#gid=20193980

I'm guessing it's because Sark thought he was still the best WR even with a broken hand. I'm also guessing that it was a minor break as opposed to a major break. Or something like that. dssl and Sirhornsalot

Correct. Sark has said he has responsibility in forming the gameplan, scripting practice, and help creating the play sheet Sark uses on Saturdays. Basically does everything outside of play calling. dssl
Baron
Did Sark just create a QB controversy? Lot's of media outlets seem to want to run with this. I myself think it was mostly coach speak. Sark would be shooting himself in the foot if he started Manning over QE. Just for continuity's sake QE needs to be the starter, unless Manning is 100% hands down outplaying Ewers. And as far as keeping the broken hand for X a secret, I'm not a big fan of hiding that after the season was concluded. Eastexhorn

We have a 5-star freshman QB with the last name of greatest QB lineage in NFL history and we have a 5-star perfect score recruit that transferred to Texas and underperformed everyone’s expectations last year. The media will have fun with this and it’s Texas. The college football giant with all the revenue and none of the big wins the last 13 years. Coach Sark likely trying to do this to push his QBs to make no one too comfortable with being the starter. But it’s also the reality. Ewers wasn’t very good last year. We have some amazing QB recruits sitting behind him. Sark needs to win. We are moving to the SEC next year and we can’t be a shitty team like the Aggies. The fan base has been waiting to win consistently for too long. if Ewers sucks next year, there will no patience from the fan base. Sirhornsalot
You start a freshmen QB only when you have to. Last year, we had to. He may look good in drills and I'm glad for that. But there's a year's experience that I'm expecting Ewers to benefit from. Play the best QB, sure. But I highly expect that to be Ewers. My understanding is that the quote was something like "every position is open and the guys will have to compete to start". He wasn't even talking about the QBs.
