Looks like 2024 for us going to the SEC. I don't know what it would take for UT, OU to make the move next season or if the SEC would be open to it now that the schedule is out.

Or we'll have to wait the whole thing out.

Do we even know yet what division/pod we'd be in?

I'm sure a 2023 schedule is ready to go. Have to let the politics play out.

BYU's website says they will be transitioning to the Big 12 next year. The word transitioning is curious. They're future scheduling is full for a couple of years. Some serious shuffling will have to happen for them to play a full B12 schedule. Damn, it's like libtards are running college sports these days.

ESPN college football analyst Kirk Herbstreit listed Steve Sarkisian as the top performing coach from Week 3. The Longhorns may not have been ready in the first half, but when adversity hit, they didn’t blink. The second-half effort shown by the Longhorns after their slow start is why Herbstreit listed Sarkisian atop his list.

It is a change of pace for Sarkisian and the Longhorns, who lost numerous games last season in the second half after leading in the first half.

It's not a good sign that the SEC schedule is out,but it wouldn't surprise me if they are still trying to work out a deal for a 2023 move.

The BIG12 schedule is expected in October. Until the BIG12 schedule comes out I think a 2023 move is still possible. We will know within the next month.

Not so fast, my friend…

I don’t know a thing!

I have a feeling his involvement is situational. Now why that is I couldn't tell you.

@TB14 @TexExSpur

Per Alex Dunlap on OB, here's how many plays (out of 85) each LB and Edge played against UTSA.

62 Jaylan Ford  LB

56 Ovie Oghuofo  Edge

54 Demarvion Overshown  LB

34 Diamonte Tucker-Dorsey  LB

23 Jett Bush  LB

18 Prince Dorbah  Edge

 9 Ethan Burke  Edge

 9 David GBenda  LB

 7 J'Mond Tapp  Edge/DE

 0 Devin Richardson  LB

 0 Luke Brockemeyer  LB

 0 D J Harris  Edge

Side Note: Can anyone tell how to eliminate the spaces between the names when doing a list like this.

The spaces between the name makes it easier to read, just my opinion

What has happened with David Gbenda?  His playing time has gone way down so far this year.  Also, Devin Richardson hasn't seen the field hardly at all.

According to the above referenced Alex Dunlap on OB, here's what the contribution from the LB's look like.

Obviously Overshown and Ford are the top LB's and are among the highest contributors on defense. Then there's a little drop off to Tucker-Dorsey. After that, it's a huge drop off to Ggenda and Richardson with neither of them hardly making any contribution at all. And making even less contribution than those two are Bush and Brockermeyer.

I had such high hopes for Gbenda going into this season.  I really thought he was ready to compete for more playing time.  Very happy with Ford stepping up this year.

Starting to get a little concerned for next year and LB depth after Overshown and DTD move on.

I knew I saw Bush a bunch. And rarely on the edge. He was an off ball LB. He has completely jumped Brockermyer from last year and played 1/3 of the game. With Overshown out that will only increase.

Against Bama

Tucker-Dorsey  9 plays

Bush  2 plays

Gbenda  2 plays

Richardson  0 plays

Brockermeyer  0 plays

Neither Richardson or Brockermeyer played a down against Bama and USTA.

Would have liked to see more clarification on what Overshown could have/ should have done differently.

I guess the bottom line is a blitzing linebacker is very limited in how he can tackle a QB who is looking to pass. I have no idea exactly how this will change the game , but likely it changes it allot.

It seems to me that it's good that they want to protect the players, but if the defender can't tackle the QB looking to pass then the QB should be ruled down after any contact. In this case instead of tackling Harris,Overshown could have reached out and created some much less forceful contact.

The rules have changed. Teams need to adjust to the new rules, or this will happen allot.

It's easy to attack the ruling, but to do so ignores the new rule and the new reality.

I have no idea what a defender can do in these situations. I guess this will make coaches blitz less, and probably also change the game in ways that are impossible to predict.
