Longhorn News/Discussion (Non-recruiting)

I don’t know how it’s going to play out, but there have been several CB for him to Texas. Guard from Kansas City, Kansas

A friend of mines brother coaches high school basketball and he has a 5 star recruit on his team this year. My friend told me that his brother said out of all the coaches that have come by this year (and everybody has come by) he said that the most likable, most personable and down to earth was Shaka Smart. I think this explains why he recruits so well. I know he hasn’t won as much as we would have liked but I’m hoping we look better this year. Everybody back and who he has added, the talent level is there. We’ll see but just thought I would throw that out there.

So this post has nothing to do with any UT sports, this is just me being proud of my daughter. She just got accepted into UT pharmacy school. Sorry for going off topic, but I had to brag a little. Bac

Didn't know where to put this, but here ya go. Looks like Derrian Brown on the road to recovery and at the least he could have a normal life!

We'll see what Shaka is about now. He's lost Lucas and now that other assistant that was so well thought of I can't remember his name right now. lol

But my understanding is that the two are responsible for much of the talent we've been able to bring here.

We just signed JT Turner (SMU) as one replacement, still waiting on the other. Turner has a better resume so we'll see if that translates into recruiting.

I gave up my seats this year.  Applied the money to next season.

Ditto. I went from lower west side to sitting behind Bob Uecker in the upper deck of the east side. Lot better view from my couch and the beer is a lot cheaper.

Just watched Herman's PC. It is difficult to understand Herman complain about lack of time to prepare for the season and then watch him blow off a practice to let the team "talk."

He added that when the team came together for practice, they had their minds on other things.

CTH missed a perfect teaching opportunity here, IMO. As a business owner I know that there are some mornings when it would be easier to sit and talk or do other things, . . some mornings I just don't feel like doing my thing. Those are the most important times to "do your thing," IMO. Some of the best days I've ever had started out with hesitancy.

But okay, we talked it out.

Freshman roundup: The nation's best players in preseason camps

TEXAS

BIJAN ROBINSON

, RB (No. 1 RB, No. 15 overall) and ALFRED COLLINS, DL (No. 2 SDE Freshman roundup: The nation's best players in preseason camps , No. 63 overall)

How could the nation's No. 1 running back in the class of 2020 not be on this list? Bijan Robinson is picking up praise from quarterback Sam Ehlinger. Another freshman picking up plenty of attention in preseason camp is defensive lineman Alfred Collins, says Texas insider Chip Brown. Collins was a five-star in the Top247 rankings.

"Coaches have indicated both will play this season - a lot," he says
