Time to lay out predictions, Vegas-style, for the opener against the Cowboys. Figured now is a good time before the depth chart is released.

Things I want to know:

  • Final score
  • QB stats (we know two will play)
  • Who leads the running backs in yardage?
  • What J. Gray's stats will be ('cause he will play some)
  • # Int's by the Texas defense
  • Total Yards allowed by the defense

Let's see what you guys have to say.

41-6 is the only stat I care about

I think the Horns hang 50 on the Cowboys. Defense comes up big and scores 2 td's and the running backs score 3. Ash passes for 2. Our Kickers boot a couple of field goals....

That Wyoming offense musters only around a hundred yards.

Ass whipping time in Austin. Hook'em.

34-17 Texas. Wyoming I followed when my brother went to Wyotech for a year and Dave Christiansen is a great offensive mind. It's no surprise that Mizzou hasnt had the success on offense or wins since he left.

Wyoming has got a very good QB and can cause trouble. But the first game is always tough and sloppy. So no huge win but no reason to freak out.

He who hath little faith... Craig Krenzel was a mediocre qb for Ohio State & they won a championship with mediocrity. Keep the chin up.

I think Krenzel had only 5 or 6 turnovers that whole season. If our QB(s) can keep the turnovers to single digits, then you are right. Will that happen? I'd bet against it.

Helped that Ohio State had a great defense, superstar freshmen running back and a missed PI call.

The defense is almost there, need to do better against high powered offenses and also where Alabama and Ohio State play, its slow, grind it out football. The Big 12 has only Texas who plays that way. All the other teams play the spread and the defense would have to bring it every week and the offense will have to score sometimes to keep up with teams to win this conference.
