Juan
Copy and pasting information from behind pay walls of other sites has always been a no no in my experiences on message boards. .... I cant remember when you started here, but in the beginning here, it was a no no. But then later, I was specifically told not to worry about it. That's why I asked you if the policy had changed. I do usually take the time to pull the player quotes and change the font. I have never agreed with the idea that the paysites have copyright protection over what other people say. With this recent Nahlin quote on Chaisson, I did just plop down the full thing since some folks here were wondering what exactly was said about the possibility we were going to lose our top ranked recruit. I would like some clarity on this. Your reply above was too general and broad. Otherwise, it will just be an ongoing issue. Daniel Seahorn
When was the last time Texas lost a recruiting battle to Utah? Not sure. I would be more concerned about this if Texas didn't have any guys committed capable of playing corner. oldhorn2
Juan
2017 OL -- is this Newton's Law of Motion again? Burton agrees the Cosmi offer may have "a sense of desperation" to it. But he thinks it has more to do with the "numbers overall," than it does with Zabie. He says he likes the tape. We will see ...... I would like some clarity on this. Your reply above was too general and broad. Otherwise, it will just be an ongoing issue. I'm going to have a discussion with Aaron specifically about it and it will get addressed. I know you may not agree with policies of the pay sites, but it is what it is and if something gets mentioned to us about it we have to pass it on to you guys so we can get it resolved. Bottom line: Don't copy and paste information from behind pay walls to the board and you are fine. You can discuss what is being posted elsewhere and even paraphrase what's being said, but copying and pasting chunks of entire articles is out of bounds. We appreciate you pulling in so much and patrolling social media for stuff, but there are boundaries that we like to try to respect when it comes to other people's work that people have to purchase subs to read. Juan
.... but there are boundaries that we like to try to respect when it comes to other people's work that people have to purchase subs to read. I am going to briefly address one thing I think you (and Will) are overlooking. One potential conflict here. And then I will shut up about it. First, I think everyone gets where you are coming from. This is how you put groceries on the table. You want to stay on good, friendly terms with your peers. Everyone here gets this and no one would begrudge you for it. One never knows where the next job offer may come from, right? The small issue that might be created here is that what's best for your own career might not necessarily be the same as what is best for this site. And, from my perspective at least, what is best for my fellow users. So, I see a small crack here where all interests may not be perfectly aligned. I hope you can understand this. But, let us see what the boss says. Aaron is a good guy. I like him. What he says goes. Monsieur ATX

Juan
Andrew King -- This one is so close as Chaisson literally talks to NOBODY. Anyone outside of probably his mom is guessing with him right now. Super K -- Chaisson doesn’t talk much but folks around him tell me that LSU currently has a slight lead but Texas is still very much in this one. I hope to find out more this weekend. NWAHorn
Wells -- "Texas has been heading for a perceptually disappointing finish for a while, and its about to meet that end." from a Reddit session with Mike Farrell, a Rivals Natl guy I'm with this guy. I, too, expected more juice from Herman and his new staff considering Herman's stability factor over Charlie's. But it still comes down to Ws and Ls. That is bottom line. Herman has the guys already in the program to be successful. He's trying to recruit to fill holes and add depth. We weren't going to get Wilson, Little, Dobbins and a lot of the big names because of 6-7, 5-7, 5-7. I don't think we'll get Chaisson either, but continue to hope I'm wrong. We will get some very solid guys that will be valuable members of this first class, especially the 2 RBs and 2 TEs. Holding Graham is huge. Gary Jackson is a huge get. I'm realistically thinking we'll be around 25th on Wednesday. A lot of the conversation we're having this year won't happen next year if the product on the field improves the way I think it can. Sirhornsalot
From today's DMN http://Texas recruiting report card: Why Longhorns' 2015 class could be program-changing Texas recruiting report card: Why Longhorns' 2015 class could be program-changing Former Texas head coach Charlie Strong's tenure was full of highs and lows. The Longhorns dropped plenty of head-scratching games in his three losing seasons in Austin, but Strong still made massive waves on the recruiting front. And the 2015 class may have been Strong's biggest win in Austin. He recruited big names like linebacker Malik Jefferson and running back Chris Warren III to produce the nation's No. 10 class, according to the 247Sports Composite. While the 2015 class has already endured two tough seasons, it still has potential to become a program-changing group. Here's a look back at Strong's second recruiting class:Best player in the class: Malik Jefferson, LBIt didn't take long for Jefferson to make a big impact at Texas. The 6-foot-3, 238-pound linebacker won Big 12 Defensive Freshman of the Year honors, racking up 61 tackles — seven for loss — on the year. He started slow as a sophomore, but finished strong with 62 tackles and 5.5 sacks. Jefferson's teammates have called him "the face of the program" over the past year. And he's backed that reputation up in two seasons on campus. Most surprising player in the class: Connor Williams, OTWilliams stole the spotlight in 2015 while starting 12 games as a freshman, earning ESPN Freshman All-American Team honors. He continued his standout play into his sophomore year and picked up a first-team All-American nod from CBS Sports, USA Today and the Football Writers Association. A former three-star recruit, few, if any scouts predicted the way Williams would shine right away for the Longhorns. Most disappointing player in the class: Deandre McNeal, WRBefore McNeal committed, Strong told the 6-2 receiver he would catch a pass on his first play at Texas. But that pass never came as McNeal played sparingly in his freshman season and failed to record a single catch. McNeal entered into the program surrounded by hype after committing alongside Jefferson in December of 2014. However, his tenure ended early: he transferred from the program last summer after getting suspended for violating team rules.Player who hasn't broken out but still could: Chris Warren III, RBWarren's flashed some massive potential in his first two seasons, but he's yet to truly breakout as a Longhorn. He played in four games as a sophomore before missing the rest of the season with a knee injury, rushing for 100 or more yards in three of those games. Warren also had some monster performances in his first season, including a 276-yard, four-touchdown outing against Texas Tech on Thanksgiving. With star running back D'Onta Foreman heading to the NFL, Warren is expected to become Texas' workhorse back in 2017.Grade for the class: A-Texas' depth chart is full of members from the 2015 class. The group includes the Big 12 Special Teams Player of the Year in Michael Dickson, along with several quality starters on both sides of the ball, like cornerback P.J. Locke III and guard Patrick Vahe. Receiver John Burt and defensive backs Holton Hill and Davante Davis suffered sophomore slumps this past season but showed immense potential as freshmen. Look for the 2015 class to make a big impact as juniors and redshirt sophomores next season. HOOKEM85
