I have always been a fan of Charlie Strong.  I hope he can win some games this year and continue to get the support from the administration and keep this momentum rolling.  He is building a monster.

By the way gentleman we need to give big ups and round of applause to DBook,JrCruz, Juan,Mike Roach, SHA, and anybody else I missed my apologies for doing a hell of an amazing job for keeping us up to

Every year ESPN puts together a "Coach Confidential" piece where it polls Big 12 staffers to get a feel of the signing classes across the conference.

The Longhorns inked the conference's top-ranked class, and coaches had plenty of say about the team's signees to ESPN:

On four-star quarterback Shane Buechele: “Has all the qualities to be a great quarterback, both on and off the field.â€

On four-star defensive tackle Chris Daniels: “Daniels will be a good player. He has size, explosiveness, he’s able to separate off his blocks. There aren’t a lot of guys out there like that.â€

On four-star linebacker Erick Fowler: “Fast twitch and acceleration. He’s one of those Von Miller-type guys. Not overly tall, but built well. When he wanted to play, s---, he couldn’t be blocked.â€

On the nation's No. 1 safety Brandon Jones: “Love him. He plays in space well. When his team needed him on offense, he was such a team guy. Big guy who can run, and I think he's got real good intelligence and 10.5 or 10.6 100 speed.â€

On four-star running back Kyle Porter: “He’s very good. He was very professional. He knew exactly what he was looking for, which is good. And he’s a hell of a player.â€

But the best line of the article, well that came from a anonymous staffer on Texas' defensive line haul:

“Texas cleaned house on the defensive line. If all those kids qualify, their D-line coach will be smoking cigarettes and relaxing on the sideline for the next three, four years.â€

As a group, the Longhorns signed seven defensive lineman, including five defensive tackles. That group included four four-star players and five players who weigh 285 pounds or more.
