Proof Watson should go?

When asked if his job will be on the line if this continues, Watson said, “I have to keep working for the kids. That’s why I do what I do. I do it for the kids. I’m out there because I love the game. I’m going to do my very best to make sure we help the kids get this thing right.â€

Wow, stop doing us favors please

News in Austin is reporting Watson is on the hot seat but they don't see him being fired in mid-season like Diaz was.

Please God let them be so wrong! I can imagine that the conversations we are having here are not the only of their type... The Big Money folks have to be saying the same things, ESPN is def taking note of how terrible the O is, and Longhorn nation is def going to keep speaking up about how shitty Watson is.

One thing that frustrates me about the offensive playcalls is the focus on moving the ball east and west as opposed to north and south. I thought this was why Greg Davis ended up getting fired. Too many side to side screens and Jet-Sweeps, not enough north and south focus.

It's really hard to put the blame on any one person. The entire team looked like they were at half-speed and consistently out of place. Malik and Daje were the only two players that were actually playing. The O-line was atrocious, Swoopes looked lost, and Watson appeared to be clueless. I'm not sure what the fix is but this is absolutely embarrassing.

Someone (not me) should go back through the "Practice Reports" and figure out who it was who was telling us how Swoopes would be improved.

That he was looking "like a real QB" coming into this season.

-- "Another year under Watson."

-- "Has a better grasp of the offense than Heard."

Aggie lurkers must be loving these posts and replies tonight. Just like we enjoy their threads when they lose and we lurk there. What goes around, comes around...and it's

a bitter bitch!

aggy has always loved it when Texas loses and if we win, they think we cheated by paying the refs so what is new? In fact, I know some aggy who I believe are happy when we lose over a win by them. Let em lurk & enjoy while they finish 3rd & 4th in the $ec. It may take a little time and possibly even a new staff but the tide will turn.

I knew that Watson was the OC at Nebraska when we beat them 13-12 in the 2009 BIG XIII Championship. However, I did not know that Watson was the Offensive Coordinator at Colorado back when we beat them 70-3 in the BIG XII Championship game.

Some things never change.

Maybe we can get a mulligan and they should all go?

Not a chance. Things are looking bad right now but we have some really capable staff members. The problem is, most of them are being hindered by their superior.

Norvell has worked wonders with receivers. Traylor is practically considered a high school football legend. I mean his old High School is naming their Stadium after him now. If anyone has a chance to show his worth this year, it's Traylor. Who I'm guessing won't be a TE Coach for too terribly long. You also have Jean-Mary and Brick Haley who are highly respected defensive coaches on your staff. Bedford is good as well and also happens to be a UT alum. I'm honestly convinced Bedford simply wasn't left with enough in the backfield to find success at this point. That could change if he'd start the very capable freshman corners we picked up in '15.

The biggest problem is obviously Watson. You have multiple Offensive Coaches who have a history of running a fast paced mostly spread offense. And then you have a Coordinator, supervising those three, who only wants to run a pro-style offense. I truly believe that we'll see progress on the defensive side of the ball throughout the remainder of this season. It's simply going to involve bringing in more of those underclassmen.

Is that really you Red?

I wish I had his money but I don't.

I was very Pro-Strong and even was telling my daughter during the game it will take some time but even you have to admit the comments after the game made by several coaches, including Strong, make you wonder what is going on?

Like someone stated earlier, he made the players earn their Horns so why doesn't he make the coaches?
