  1. Despite dropping the series finale to Louisiana, 2-1, there was a lot to like about the series win by the Longhorns. Here are 3 thoughts I’m thinking following opening weekend: Texas has to chance to have one of the top rotations in the conference If there was one word to describe the weekend rotation for Texas after one week, it would be impressive. Nolan Kingham delivered a masterful performance on Friday, throwing 8 scoreless innings with 10 strikeouts. Chase Shugart followed it up with 6 ⅔ innings in his first collegiate start on Saturday, with the only run being unearned.

  19. Lace up those spikes, put on your game faces and pop that mitt Seamheads, because it's Friday! The final weekend series of the regular season begins today as the Longhorns take on the Mountaineers in a 3-game set at UFCU Disch Falk Field. As I mentioned Tuesday, I am not going to be around much this weekend, so hopefully Will, Harrison and/or Aaron can pick up the slack. Feel free to chime in on the game thread. Let's see if we can end the regular season on a high note. A series win would be very good for the Horns and their post-season seeding. Quick matchup notes: TEX
  20. Happy Tuesday Seamheads. Absolutely huge week for Texas Baseball starts tonight. The Horns host Incarnate Word in the Tuesday evening matchup, which precedes a 3-game set at UFCU Disch Falk Fields against West Virginia to close out the regular season schedule. Texas currently sits at 31-19, (9-11 in Big 12,) and just outside of the Top 25. As of today, Texas is projected as a #3 seed in what would likely be a highly unfavorable regional setting, (think Oregon St.) Texas certain can make some noise this week with a 3/4 or 4/4 record against Incarnate Word and WVU. A 2/2

  22. The Longhorn baseball team jumps back into the Top 25 this week according to www.D1Baseball.com Additionally, the RPI jumped 10 points after the weekend sweep in Stillwater. Horns sit at 26 RPI and 33 SOS. All good news but Texas cannot afford to take any games off in this final two week stretch.
  23. Happy Friday Seamheads. I won't be doing the games today due travel. Texas really needs this series. Of course that is beginning to sound like a broken record. I'm guessing that the series schedule has been adjusted due to potential weather on Saturday evening.
