  1. When Texas faced Georgia we were even bigger underdogs and that was at a neutral site and they were supposedly pissed about missing the CFP and going to take out their frustrations on Texas. Didn't happen. I am extremely confident that Texas and Tom Herman have developed a gameplan to win this game. Herman is no slouch when it comes to formulating a plan of attack and I don't expect this week to be the week he starts to slip. Texas by 17. Could be 31-14. Could be 52-35. Could be 17-0 but that's the least realistic option.
  2. Uh, Texas IS NOT losing to LSU. OU maybe. Iowa State maybe. LSU naw.
  3. It looks like the 2020 class is really beginning to shape up. We haven't cracked the top 10 yet though I do expect that to happen by the time the dust settles. I know there are still a few names on the list that we would love to have and I understand that we are probably taking a smaller class this cycle since next cycle is absolutely loaded to the hilt. Coach Herman has said that the staff is not going to take guys just to take them but I do have to wonder if we will end up with some talented yet lower rated guys to fill out the class. I mean, PSU (disgusting rats that they are) is ranked one spot ahead of us with a significantly lower average and no 5 star recruits and three less 4 star guys. They have 16 3 stars committed. I, for one, always want quality over quantity but we could easily finish top 5 this cycle if we take on some 3 star guys that can grow and improve. It seems the recruiting services don't value the quality as much as I do. I've heard we will take 20-25 kids but we're sitting at 12 now and the season is less than a month away. Will the staff ramp up the offers to lower rated guys to go ahead and get the recruiting thing over with (I know, it never ends) in order to focus more on the season at hand?
  4. That's pretty awesome. My wife and I lived there and she graduated college from SWOSU there. There are actually some pretty decent teams in those small Western Oklahoma towns. Clinton, OK used to be (probably still is) a powerhouse in the lower divisions.
  5. They eat this shit up, don't they? They want so bad to be "a Top 10 team" and to "compete for a conference title" yet turn around and try to discredit Texas for doing those VERY things last season. I can't wait for Fall.
  6. The Texas Longhorns Softball team just defeated Alabama in Game 2 of the Super Regionals to force Game 3 in Tuscaloosa, AL. UT pitcher Miranda Elish was transported to the ER after being hit in the face by her own catcher trying to throw to second base. Elish's mother has reported that Miranda is doing well. Side Note: Those Alabama girls are BIG. Must be because they's SECSECSEC.
  7. Lol "Dabo and Saban results". So aggy is gonna win multiple natties in a few short years after not winning one for 80 years? Riiiiiiiiiiiight...
  8. Any updates on Bru's eligibility for this season? Seems like we were supposed to find out the week of the spring game and then nothing.
  9. I'm in the same boat as @Big Daddy Cane. I haven't been to Austin since my sophomore year of college and that was a drunken blur after spending five days in Panama City. We partied hard with our fraternity chapter at UT and it's one of my favorite memories of college. I think it was Roundup weekend there. We went to both games against OU last year but we're taking the weekend and driving down from NWA so I need hotel, food, bars, etc! Throw 'em out there!
  10. Jesus Christ. This thing might get ugly. aggy is disgraceful.
  11. Hell, I'm just glad we won. I caught the highlights on YouTube and it sure looked like we may have stole one that we probably should have lost. A win is a win!
  12. Please dear Lord let Texas beat the hogs. For all of us living in piggy country. I played my first round of golf of the year yesterday. My bag is a Texas Longhorns bag and the first guy I ran into when checking in said, "Well since we can't beat y'all in football or basketball we'll just have to settle for baseball" and I wanted to tell him YOU WISH but then I remembered that they are pretty damn good and I know very little about baseball lol
  13. The sad part is I actually erased the last part of my comment where I was going to say that I wish men's basketball would get their act together but too late now! Seriously though, they have a great game against a good opponent one week and then lose to junior high teams the next. That, to me, indicates that it is not a lack of skill on the court but rather on the sidelines. Smart is wholly on the hotseat in my opinion. But I know less about basketball than I do baseball so I could be way off base. Pun absolutely intended.
  14. Chris Del Conte stated that the goal is to be top 10 in every sport Texas competes at. I think that is very specific and a great goal to have. With the new staffs in place I believe that goal is far more attainable now than in recent years.
  15. Geez. I read up on this thread and we got WHOOPED by Stanford. That sucks after such a great series against LSU. Almost glad I didn't watch now! Oh well it's still Hook 'em all the live long day!
  16. So, we always cancel our Cox TV for the summertime because we are never around to actually watch anything on it. Is there a LHN app or any other way to watch? It'd be great to be able to watch (or listen) while I'm rolling to and fro.
  17. @joeywa Thanks for the offer. I know the absolute basics but I have no idea on timelines, important milestones throughout the season, when the postseason starts, format, etc. Most of this I can learn just by watching and listening so I'm trying to set reminders and record games.
  18. My girlfriend played all of her life and was pretty good but two blown ACL's isn't good for anybody. We haven't followed the sport in years but we have been watching Texas play and it really brings out her competitive side haha
  19. I have never been a baseball fan but I've started watching Texas baseball and softball recently and it's pretty fun to get into. I know nothing about the players and I've had to Google a few of the rules and terms but I dig it so far.
  20. I watched the same video. It is pretty awesome how humble Devin seems for a kid with his level of talent. I get the feeling he is going to have a special season. I'm eager to see how well LSU's defense fares against that type of speed while also having to account for CJ, Whittington, Moore, etc. I think Texas will run those cajuns until their wheels fall off and hang 40 on them.
  21. @MikeV73 I'm mostly Scotch Irish but my buddy tells me I'm the picture of Hitler youth so there's that.
  22. @MikeV73 I'm Cherokee, Creek and Seminole. I'm also blue eyed, blonde headed and get AT LEAST one sunburn a summer. We are the face of Native America nowadays. I still have full blood family members that look like injuns but they aren't the norm anymore. So lay off my people!!!
