  1. Getting to a 4-3 is a plus for D lineman. 3-4 is designed for them to be blocker eaters and the LBs make the plays.
  2. Even in a 4-2-5 you are going to spin some OLBs down to DEs. Get speed and athleticism and worry about position when they fill out in 2 years. These kids haven't even played their Sr. years yet.
  3. We gotta get these kids to stay the hell away from Columbus. Starts with winning some big games like LSU next year.
  4. No shit. Let's kick ass this year and land the 2. Never want to see good talent leave the state.
  5. In other words, just make shit up. These guys have a future job in the government.
  6. Be good to get a proven WR. Right now we don't have a proven guy to 50+ catches. Talent is there, but nice to get a Sr. leader out of the portal.
  7. You are right we've had a lot of bad luck on the injury/health front since TH took over. Hopefully we're do some good luck next few years.
  8. Well, Whitt's still on the team. I don't expect most freshman to start or even play. But he has a chance to play. But guys one year in that never play a down and leave where essentially never here. One year Charlie was getting everybody except so many in that class never stuck. So when we do these class comparisons to OU the comparisons just don't show any semblance to reality when 1/3 of the guys never make it.You're not going to hit on everyone, but we've had a lot of guys the last decade never make it to the Jr/Sr years and it shows on the field. Mack did a much better job in that regards as well as keeping high end Jrs on the team (see Roy/Ricky). Sam not leaving is just as big as those guys. You're essentially getting the top player in the state for 1 year. I'm not saying Sam is as good as Ricky, but the position matters too
  9. Rankings don't matter until you see who sticks. We get a bump by McCoy who never plays a down. Should we take him off and recalc? I mean what's more important is who at least makes it past year 1.
  10. Doubt that's the case here as he was committed to UT. Think this has more to do with coaches and belief in a system.
  11. I just don't see why anyone would go to Baylor over UT. Anybody been to Waco? Nothing to do.
  12. Me too. I don't have another decade to wander in the wilderness. At 60 I still care. At 70, I may not, you never know.
  13. Biggest issue Orlando had this year was not adjusting his D once we had injuries. When we had experienced corners last year we could blitz all the time and put our corners on an island. After the injuries this year we kept running the same blitzes but didn't have the experience to make it successful.
  14. Hard to know whether the pick was on Fields on the WR. WR cut off his route and Fields threw to a spot. One of the f'd up but hard to know which one.
  15. He gets Ingram, RJ, TW, and BR for starters. If I were an OC I'd feel like I won the lottery. Toughness, speed, receiving ability all covered.
  16. Zach Smith needs to get a life. #obsession
  17. We were #1 in the country on blocked kicks for about a decade there. Michael Griffin was a beast.
  18. That's the thing. Decision making should be able to be coached. Course you need a special teams coach to work with him.
  19. What about JWhitt as punt returner. I also wondered why Jamison couldn't return punts. He's got serious wheels.
  20. Says a lot about these kids that have stayed with their commitment in spirt of the uncertainty. BR could be a day one starter. Last 5* recruits at RB were Brown and Gray but neither of them had top end speed. BRs the total package and can't wait to see him on the field. With him and JWhitt we finally have some speed back there we haven't had since Charles.
  21. Garrett will be let go short of a super bowl appearance. And no way boys have the consistency for that. They might be able to get up for one game but they aren't winning 3 and they aren't beating the Saints in NO. Just not going to happen. So I'd be talking to Moore now. Not saying he's the one, but problem he Cowboys have is more their OLine is a shambles. Cowboys put up over 40 this week and Cooper only had one catch. How do I know. He's supposed to be my WR1 in fantasy.
  22. But the Texas job is not the Houston job. You have to be able to turn the O and D over in this job. Now GH may not have run what TH wants to run, but then why pursue him in the 1st place.
