I stated earlier I'm an optimist. We are more mature in the key areas on defense and now more talented. Our secondary and line backing core will be ready with backups. Our DL only lost one part time difference maker and I believe we landed at least two that will fill that gap. Our o line will be more experienced, deeper, and more talented than we've seen in 8-10 years. RB's ridiculous, The receivers will benefit from the new scheme and we have a plethora of potential play makers (say that three times fast)........QB Oh the dreaded Achilles heal of the Longhorn football program..... We have 5 guys with the ability to be very good quarterbacks. They each have positives and negatives. It seems like we don't have that one guy that checks every box needed (accuracy, athleticism, decision making, ect...) I firmly believe this new offense and QB coach will "miraculously" produce That Guy. We have an offensive identity and an OC that KNOWS how to work that offense. Watson spent last spring attempting to teach something he didn't know and honestly he didn't probably agree with changing the offense. We have a chance to be really good this fall. I only saw us lay down once last year (TCU), one game we severely underestimated the opponent (iowa St), and one game we flat weren't ready (ND). Flip the Cal, OK ST, and TT games (7 total pts) and we are an 8 win team. I am going to call 10 wins next year (regular season), final answer, lock it in, and throwing it in my face if I'm wrong. I'm not wishing I truly believe that will be the case. I say it's a disappointing season if we win less than 10. #webeatnerrbody

I have always been a fan of Charlie Strong.  I hope he can win some games this year and continue to get the support from the administration and keep this momentum rolling.  He is building a monster.

As I listened to the commits talk about Charlie, the two words that I heard the most were straight-forward and honest.  During his presser those were my exact thoughts.  At times,  I thought he gave away too much of his strategies (although most are probably common) and overall approach to recruiting. After processing what he said it is plainly obvious that he is a genuine guy that works hard, sticks to his core values and is a man of great character.  I know this isn't old news, but again his presser and watching him interact with the players yesterday absolutely exemplified who he is and what he stands for.  I for one and proud to have him as our coach and a representative of the great University of Texas.  Gentlemen, we have us a good coach and a man of honor whose brightest days are ahead of him.  Success on the field this year and I can see him eclipsing what Mack accomplished here.  I know I'm coming off of a major high yesterday, but like to think I'm an optimist and a realist.

Thanks to all of you who contribute your insights, humor, rumor and all that it implies.  Special thanks to Juan.  Keep it up brother.  I don't know how you do it, but your efforts are appreciated.

All things considered this class doesn't fit in the grading system because its higher than an A. Food for thought: Coach Strong's first two seasons at Louisville were 7-5, 7-5. His first two full recruiting classes were ranked #28 and #45. Year's three and four at Louisville their record was 11-2 and 12-1. Coaches first two years here 6-7, 5-7 and his first full classes were ranked #10 and #11 (per247). I've got a feeling we are going to see a jump in on field production next season.

Eventhough he didn't sign I loved the word Hudson used to describe what Charlie Strong was building at Texas, "Empire". These last two groups have been built on where we are going not where we are. Buy In is the greatest indicator of success in an organization. These guys #believe.

My wife and I were out sofa shopping once. I liked a big leather couch and she liked a smaller "foo foo" print sleeper sofa. We didn't buy a plaid sectional. We bought the dang foo foo! Somebody has to get what they want. Just saying.

I met him yesterday. It's hard to explain but if you didn't know who he was (millionaire, celebrity, football coach) it's like talking to one of your buddies or someone you would like to be friends with. It's very obvious why his home visits are "where the magic happens". I wasn't going to share this but... My best friend was diagnosed with an extremely rare form of cancer and was going to be hospitalized for an extended amount of time. I emailed coach Strongs assistant and explained the situation and asked if he would possibly send a note of encouragement. Long story short. Coach Strong wrote him a letter, told him that he and the entire program would be praying for him and to keep his "Horns Up". He gave him an autographed picture and a "#letsride" bracelet. He did this right after the OK State game (I'm sure it wasn't the best time of the season for him). I can't express how much I want Charlie Strong to succeed.

Lol I've been telling y'all about this secret commit for a while now, I'm assuming the issue is that he's committed to another school and doesn't want anyone to know, me and my source are actually good friends and he won't even give me the name, that's how fragile this thing is.

Staff feels good about all of its targets still so I don't care what everyone else is saying, the staff feels good about these guys. I told you all that Brandon Jones was ours in December, he was one of the first silent commits we had, so I'd be pretty surprised if anything changes. We will have a big haul at DT, and man I wouldn't be surprised if Jackson picked us today, whenever I talk to my buddy he says that Jackson is the number one target - the defensive staff views him as the best edge pass rusher in the country - and that they feel like they have a good relationship with him so idk I'm not gonna say he's all OU until pen meets paper on Wednesday. They feel good about Hudson and idk why ole miss is considered a lock for Anderson , because I'm being told it's more like 50/50. D Jack had a great visit and I'm sure that he's in. Elliott will be a beast in the 3-3-5 look, as he's almost like a Malcom Brown clone.

Things change but as of right now the staff feels good about mostly everyone, this signing day thing was planned a while ago by some of the recruits so Texas will be the talk of the country come Wednesday. As I told you, this team is hungry and I expect some heads to be turned come the fall. Charlie has tolsd all of the recruits that the goal is to win the conference next year, I don't think he'd put that much pressure on himself if he didn't actually believe it would happen. I'm right there with the rest of you in excitement and can't wait to see our haul and most importantly us win some games this fall.

By the way I'm not claiming to be an insider at all, I'm a die hard fan with a buddy on the staff and when I found this site I thought that it would be cool to share some of the stuff he tells me and just talk Texas football with other Texas fans , so if I'm coming accross as an "insider" or "know it all" then I apologize.

    I hope everyone has a great day! @dbut #wegettinerrbody

No ones "source" is full proof. Keep bringing the info. When several different sources share the same information separately it begins to look valid. I had a level 1 source tell me exactly what you shared in a portion of your post. Doesn't mean things don't change.

    Feeling better about Fowler.

We lead for Jackson last I heard. Kentucky Derby kind of thing. Jackson and Fowler . . . to go along with this DT class and last year's DB and LB class (and this year's) . . . Do you see where this is going? That's a national championship defense in the making.

Before his weekend trip, I was told we led for Brandon Jones.

The one I can't put my finger on is Hudson. Last I heard, it was a toss-up.

Of the ones we've been on heavily, those two are the question marks for me at the moment.

Otherwise, the listing you saw of announcements is going to seem like Ground Hog Day every 30 minutes or so.

There is still chatter about a mystery recruit that I've not been able to get anything on. But one did visit UT today my guy confirms. My friend thinks it was either Hudson, Anderson or Jones. He's not sure, wasn't told.
