  1. My take on this game was more how bad K State is rather than how good the Horns are. I saw two pretty poor teams playing. glad for a win however.
  2. There is no interest in Shaka Smart basketball. We need to move on and bring someone else in. If not for the insane contract he got, I feel he would have already been gone. The program is in worse shape than it was when he got here. It’s very disappointing.
  3. I just remember Penders’ first season and watching Lance Blanks throw down a huge dunk the first game of the year. I was thinking “this might be fun!”. I think Weltlich outlawed dunks and threes.
  4. Played some pick up games with George in Greggory. He’s a slow human being. Could almost touch the rim flat footed however
  5. DVR’ed the game and tried to watch it last night. It’s the same story different year. As Tejas said, Shaka seems to be a great guy but it’s not working here. I haven’t been this down on Horns basketball since the Weltlich days. Showed my age there a bit
  6. A milkman quartet was in attendance. Lots of arm waving and some half assed whoops
  7. It’s an event center that opened in October. Great basketball set up. Much better than the drum!
  8. I went to the game. Ags are terrible and I wasn’t impressed by the Horns. They bust their butt on defense and look good when they get out and run but in the half court it’s pretty brutal. High screen and roll is about all you get for any movement on offense. I really wish they would run some type of motion offense. I hope they continue to improve as they head into conference play. And just for the record, even the crowd was kinda meh. Not much excitement in the building from either fan base.
  9. I was thinking the same watching the way they treated his knee and the look he had on his face. I’m worried about that injury.
  10. This part is correct. These kind of non conference games are awesome.
  11. Looks like we will be more air raid than power spread. Can’t catch a break with our running backs. No since whining about it though, adjust and find a way to win.
  12. As a former coach, I always appreciate the fact that you came from that background and saw things with those eyes. Your contributions here will be missed and I have no doubt I will see your name and insightful work elsewhere on the internet and other places. Keep up the great work and thank you. May God bless your new adventure!
  13. Iowa state headed to OT. kansas just sucks. I feel for em
  14. Gundy is a great offensive mind and will usually find a way to run the ball successfully. I anticipate the pokes will have a very good offense this year. I’m betting Oregon State’s defense is not that great but give the Cowboys their due. Hubbard over 200 and Sanders over 100. Pretty salty no matter who your playing.
  15. It will be interesting to see at what level the team starts the year. One thing you have to give the staff credit for is , for the past 2 seasons, the team showed improvement from the beginning of the season to the end. I have faith this will continue. The ceiling will depend on where the floor is set this first game. I’m cautiously optimistic about the season and loving the long term direction the program is headed. Love the staff and love me some CDC. I’m ready for some football!!
  16. How many jobs can you get that pay 6 or 7 figures after one year of college? I never fault guys for leaving early. He is far from a polished player but why not get paid while learning his trade. Good or bad, it’s the system right now. I miss the great college teams we saw before the “one and done” era but it is what it is. Best of luck to him!
  17. Some schools don’t hold a spring game. It’s not unprecedented. The practices are for the players and coaches, the game for fans and PR.
  18. One of my dear college friends swam for him. The guy loves him. I mean truly loves the man. I met him a couple of occasions and he is super down to earth. I was a track athlete so I really respect the athletes in the non revenue sports. Swimmers training is tough stuff. Props to your boys!
  19. I’m sorry but I’m done with this disappointing season. I just want it to go away and maybe I’ll be hopeful again by next season.
  20. The 83 game crushed me. I’m convinced the Horns would have beaten Bama had Colt not gotten hurt.
  21. Shows how the college game has changed. You can’t play a big run stopping plugger anymore. Defenses need fast athletes who are more versatile. The guys that would be a strong safety back in the day are your linebackers now.
