  1. I agree. Last night's game was very bad. IMO the overriding issue with this team is the lack of a true point guard or someone that understands how to distribute the basketball within the offensive framework. College basketball is a PG dominated game and the best teams have that PG or individual that can distribute the ball and run the offense. This might be the hardest and most demanding position on the court and you can't ask players who have never been that true PG learn on the fly at this level. The lack of a PG on this year's team is on Smart for not recruiting one and this tea
  2. Given Charlie is still at the team dinner I wouldn't expect anything else. Perrin has too much respect for Charlie. I suspect an official announcement will come tomorrow before Charlies Monday press availability.
  3. Do we know if Charlie and the coaches were there and was Perrin there?
  4. I would agree that it will definitely but him behind the eight ball. But what if he starts SB and they lose by 14? Is Charlie in a no-win situation at this point?
  5. No, but his wife was seen driving around Austin with a realtor looking for one.
  6. Okay, I'll play along. How do you define excellence in a football program.
  7. Good stuff cheese. Given the weather conditions I'm perfectly happy with the W and can't complain too much about mistakes.
  8. I have discovered that if you put crow on the grill with a little salt and pepper with a good slathering of BBQ sauce, and by a good slathering I mean dunk the damn bird in a vat of BBQ sauce, it tastes just like chicken. Num Num...
  9. This is great stuff, glad you're here on HS. I agree with you on Bruce Weber. Left up to his own devices he will run a program into the ground. He caught lightning in a bottle his last two years at SIU and parlayed that into the Ilini HC position where he had three good years almost entirely on the back of Bill Self's recruiting classes.
  10. I'm with you on KY over Missou but I still think TCU has too much for Tech. I don't think Arky is all what everyone made them out to be this year and I just can't trust pretty boy to out coach Patterson.
  11. I don't think we have a good enough sample of their work this year to really say they have a good defense. Central Michigan, Central Ark, & UTSA aren't exactly world beaters.
  12. Heard is the first player in a while that opposing teams have to game plan for and account for on every play. This obviously softens up the defense. I might be missing something but I don't remember Heard taking any huge hits in either of his first two games. Because of his speed and elusiveness it just seems hard to get a clean hit on him. But you're right he does have know when to slide and be safe.
  13. I'll take 7 wins this year and consider it progress.
  14. I agree with you. That puts Texas at 3-3 going into the softer part of their schedule of KState, Iowa State, & Kansas. They should come out of that stretch 6-3 heading into WVU.
