So 105 percent. Not the 110 percent I always want athletes to give, but close.

Not saying I agree with it but just reminding that these are computer models. FPI probably likes OU a lot more than us because they had many more big wins than we did. Even our "easy" games were close in final score and our big wins, even though we held big leads, ended with close scores. I think FPI has us severely underrated because our stats don't accurately how good our team was last year and will be this coming season.

My hope on this is since they have spoken to the Broughton and his mom that they know it's Texas, but not going to give it away. Fingers crossed.

Poppycock, part deux OU lost their first big game to Texas. Before that, they struggled against Iowa State, almost lost to Army (AT HOME). They gave up more points to halfway in the season than many teams give up in a whole season. After Texas, they barely get by Tech who fought KU for the cellar. Barely beat their rival (by 1 pt), Beat WVU by three. Gave up 40 to KU. Then in their biggest game, they got rolled by the Tide. I understand what you're saying. You're trying to make sense of something that does not make sense because it is corrupted.

My mistake – it's August 2, not August 1. This is a change in his original plan so yeah, his mind is made up.

Suchomel update on Broughton Don't think so. I was told by nothing has changed from the report given to me while I was in Atlanta, which had Texas behind A&M and Ohio State. If the family changes his mind, crazy things could happen but if what I was told is true (and it comes from an impeccable source) it's not 50/50. I asked him if this was about right and he agreeed Aggy 65% Texas 25% OSU 15% IT does not seem to have a clue. They said earlier it was 50-50

If my kid had a choice between two schools and I preferred one over the other for whatever reason, I would certainly let them know my preference. It doesn't mean I would force them, of course. Remember, Broughton did say he would sit down with mom and grandma and discuss the plusses and minuses, so he apparently looks at this as a family decision.

Usually when an announcement date is set a decision has more or less been made.

May just be me but I just don't get people think that what Mom wants or what the family wants is going that big of influence. In our case our son had choices where to go play golf and our daughter had choices on where to go be a cheerleader. Yes, we talked with both of them, but the choice was entirely theirs and we didn't try to influence at all where they eventually chose to go.

Interesting update on Bijan today at Brainiacs. OSU mod Super K knows said he has no idea why OSU has had a flood of crystal balls for Bijan. Apparently, a family member of another recruit in California started a rumor that Bijan had chosen OSU a couple weeks back. He said Bijan has not silently committed to OSU. Based on Super K's conversation with Bijan's mother, OSU wasn't the top school or even a second choice for her. He said based on that, Bijan would have to convince mom that OSU is the place for him, and that has not happened.
