Was talking with my best friend, aka Irish Fred today and we were talking about Golson and his poor "academic judgment" and whether or not ND should ever allow the kid back to take classes. When any other student is caught cheating they most likely get expelled immediately from the university. I don't know the logistics but my understanding is you cannot go back to that university and take classes.
Golson received an offer, now we know, from Auburn to play for the Tigers. Should he accept the offer and move to Alabama? He seems determined to play again for ND. For this it is hard to fault him. Might be the best way to get things straight so he can right the ship with himself and the university. Others speculate that Golson is headed to a JUCO to play this season.........
But this latest incident with Eddie Vanderdoes, WHO SIGNED A NATIONAL LOI WITH NOTRE DAME and wants out of it to play for UCLA is ridiculous. He will not play for the Irish and will play for UCLA but will sit out a year because of it. Read some of this kid's comments about it. He is the top DT in the 2013 class but acts like an 8 year old. Dude can ball, but needs to work on other stuff....
Closing this Notre Dame post with a funny quote by Lou Holtz during the "Catholics vs. Convicts" rivalry period - ND & Miami.
A Hurricanes chaplain declared that God doesn't care who wins a football game. "I don't think God cares who wins, either," agreed then Fighting Irish coach Lou Holtz. "But His mother does."
