Weekend Recap

It's crazy that our hitters actually fared better in the games that we lost.  That doesn't happen often at all.

When your offense puts up 23 hits and 9 runs in two losses, then the attention needs to be placed elsewhere. The errors were a killer, no doubt, but Cooper and Schiraldi had rough outings today, and the offense just couldn't keep up.  Everyone on the team had a hit today, except CJ, (rought weekend for him.)  That's not a knock on your approach at the plate, small ball, or lack of ability to hit.  Only two absolutely poor ABs today that I can recall.

The fear is that the team went from relaxed & hungry to feeling individual pressures. Too many guys trying to be Superman is one of the things that did the team in last year.

A select few are doing this.  The thought process is that these guys are now part of a TEAM, not THE team as they had been in HS.  Play within yourself, do your job, and stop pressing.  It's a learning curve that even a coach can't fix; it has to be understood by the player himself.

Hey Matt, I'm going out on a limb here.  I predict we don't lose a single game or series this week.  How about them apples?

:D

Don't worry Cotcher, we just need to ⚡️TCB⚡️ at K St.& show well in the conference tourney, and I see a possible 2 seed out west for us.

Also, it is WAY too early for accurate seed projections. There is still a lot of baseball left.

I want to go ahead and let y'all know that the weekend of the K St series I'll be in Chicago on business. Somebody else will need to handle PBP, as I'll be there for a conference TH-TU. Maybe a change in score keeping will do the trick.

I totally agree. It's easy for fans to focus on the Horns and forget that the rest of the country is playing too. As important as the KSU series is to Texas, there are 6-8 teams out there that could play their way out of being a host site. With several weeks left it's still much too early to project a team like Texas.

well yeah, i'm focussed more on the horns. we're T5 in the league and lost series to all 4 teams ahead of us. and  'lot of baseball to be played' or 'much too early' sounded better after the tcu series than it does now.

it'll be great if the 6-8 teams you reference crash and burn, but the way we're going it won't matter.

That being said, with the pitching depth i think there's still hope for this team and it might even be beneficial to NOT play at home. go on the road as a 2 with lessened expectations and maybe they play loose and confident like they were a month ago.
