First of all, bad idea to watch it after midnight. I don't care how bad of a movie it was, but when you hear a noise in the middle of the dark, the only thing that will save you is putting your head under the covers (trust me, it still works. The monsters have never found me hiding under the bed comforter).

Now, back to the movie...it was ok. I'm not a fan of Zombie movies and whatnot, but I thought that since Pitt was in it then it might be alright. But the story had a big problem.

****SPOILERS****

*********************

So Pitt goes and investigates and realizes that Zombies are repelled from people with life threatening diseases. My issue here is that if this was the case, wouldn't it only take them a max of about two days to realize that these zombies are avoiding the cancer wards and much of hospitals? It took Pitt at least a week to discover this, but it seemed to me that this info that could have saved the world would have been found out in a shorter amount of time.

Thoughts?

Good not great. Felt like the beginning and ending were rushed, but the middle is pretty good.

Apparently they went through different directors and re-filmed the ending multiple times.
It went over budget.

“Can we take this genre movie and use it as a Trojan horse for sociopolitical problems, and what would the effect on the world be if everything we knew was upside-down and pulled out from under us?†Pitt told The Hollywood Reporter in January, suggesting that his inspiration was the iconic 1974 disaster epic, The Towering Inferno

It now seems that everything was upside-down on World War Z.   “A nightmare from top to bottom,†describes one source with ties to the production, which appears to have been hampered from the outset by a lack of clear creative direction. Pitt hired the director of his choosing,Marc Forster The Kite Runner, Finding Neverland, but Forster -- who has limited experience on effects-heavy tentpoles -- was not allowed to bring along his usual team. Instead, several more seasoned players were hired. The result, say multiple sources, is a seemingly headless enterprise driven by conflicts. At this point, the movie, with a price tag now said to be north of $170 million, needs as many as five weeks of complex reshoots, which are not expected to get underway until at least September. Paramount has taken the unusual step of hiring Prometheus Damon Lindelof to rework the film’s third act. The studio announced in March that it was moving the film to June 2013 from December.

But it turned out to be Pitt's highest grossing movie of all time, worldwide.

This movie confused me. I thought zombies were slow and clumsy like on the Walking Dead. These zombies were cat quick. No way I can out run this version. I may need to alter my preparation for the upcoming zombie apocalypse and look into a gym membership.
