VY Retiring from NFL, taking role with UT

This has been rumored for weeks. I even think McPhaul heard this as well. It just makes the most sense for VY.

I would have liked to see him give the CFL a try as a way of possibly rekindling his career and I always hoped that the Texans would give him a fair shot, given their quarterback situation, but I guess he just didn't fit their scheme. Anyhow, I wish him the best in all future endeavors and I'll never forget '05.

I will be announcing my retirement soon as well.

what an out of control ego he has.

sounded like a face-saving thing to me. he left a little wiggle-room in the event he does get a call, but if he doesn't then he's retired.

oh well. curious what kind of role he'd have with UT.

He mentions that he kind of got into it with his coach. This is the real reason why he couldn't make it with another team. Sat next to an NFL scout on a plane last who told me that VY would never make it with another team primarily because of attitude.

The most dominating college player I have and ever will see. I never thought we would lose a game as long as he was our QB. It's too bad things didn't work out in the NFL for a myriad of reasons. Best of luck in his next endeavor and hope the school puts him in contact with any recruits that visit our campus. VY Forever!
