Saturday night Hornsports was the only site to report that the Meyer camp had some form of communication with Texas.

That was disputed Saturday by several pretty good posters.

However, I was told Sunday that Meyer did not want that news to get out until after Browns press conference because of the respect he has for our former coach.

If Hornsports was informed that would not release that info until Sunday, we would have sat on it until Sunday.

Sucks for knowing new information, but the best policy might be to keep everything quiet not to spook potential candidates.

Despite what might have been said there has been contact. I've been trying to get info, but everything right now is tight

This would be my top choice for a coach. I won't hold my breath, but man would this be a win for UT.

Meyer would be as big as Saban, maybe bigger given the offense he runs would be perfect for recruiting in Texas.

The look on Demetrius Knox's face would be priceless...

this is a good thing.

Urban Meyer has had winning streaks of 20+ games three separate times. He did it at the finish of his Utah days and beginning at Florida. He did it again at Florida. And he did it at Ohio State. He's won 2 national titles. He recruits S-P-E-E-D. His system is perfect for the state of Texas considering what high school's run here.

The biggest question is whether or not he'd actually leave his "dream" school. Not to mention the fact that he just got the #1 LB in the country from Georgia to commit today.

Personally, the big advantage that Texas has is the fact that we can recruit a lot easier than Ohio State. But if Meyer feels like he can recruit in the south well enough at Ohio State there's really no reason for him to leave. Unless he just wants the money.

Meyer certainly looked like he was impressed on the 40 two years ago when he did commentary for the spring game. I would be pleased with the hire, but I'd give about 98% chance against it happening.

great scoop, but do NOT want. He BROKE Florida and is doing the same at tOSU with his "brand" of discipline.

No offense but that article is rather dated. Look at how he has handled discipline at OSU. He held 2 stars out multiple games even though they were not charged with a crime. He had a star offensive lineman sit the BIG championship because he gave the #1 to the Michigan Student Section. THis is different than how he did things in Florida.

So the question is did your source on this issue know about the info blackout and not tell you so you would get the word out? If so the source used you.

If your source did not know of the blackout, then you and your source may have been used to disseminate the info.

Obviously I don't expect an answer McPhaul but I am not certain how one would discriminate.

The info may be correct but the purpose of releasing the info may be face value or it may be agenda motivated. How can you tell?
