After all the money he has made off Drew Brees he has the gall to be a cheap ass over the 5 mil per year Brees wants? This is the same owner that wanted the city of New Orleans to pay for a new football stadium after Hurricane Katrina. He is going to purchase the Hornets for 338 million for crying out loud! Pay Brees Tom.

Benson also wants to change the name of the Hornets back to the Jazz which is understandable. Utah has zilch to do with the name Jazz.

Benson always has been a greedy bastard. I felt sorry for him for so many years because the Saints sucked for so long and then Haslett brought them back to being a meaningful team and Benson had no appreciation for him. Brees is a baller and it doesnn't hurt for a veteran like him to miss a week or two or three of camp but Benson 's greedy ass should pony up the duckets to Drew. Try competing without him.

If Benson and the Saints don't give Brees at least close to what he's asking (23-24 million a year I think) then they are nuts. Yes, its a shit load of money, but the team would still pretty much just be average without Brees.
