Talking intramurals here, not state."If Coach would have left you in, you would have won state", right?
Sorry - Uncle Rico reference. About the 1:00 mark.Talking intramurals here, not state.
They rebound pretty well for their size, but you are correct Texas should dominate on the boards.Michigan is a horrible defensive basketball team that doesn't rebound well on top of that. Texas has to be close to +20 on the boards to pull off the upset.
No they don't. They are 153rd in defensive rebounds, with no player averaging 5.They rebound pretty well for their size, but you are correct Texas should dominate on the boards.
They aren't a bad rebounding team for their size. 1) They don't get a lot of chances to grab boards on the offensive end because they don't miss that often and run a fairly slow paced offense. They have far fewer chances to grab boards on the offensive end, and the numbers are fairly distorted. 2) Defensively they force quite a few turnovers and like you said Michigan isn't that great of a defensive team (teams shoot high percentages against Michigan normally). That again distorts rebounding numbers, because there are far fewer boards to grab. I'm not saying Michigan is a great rebounding team but they aren't bad for their size. Numbers don't always tell the whole truth. Texas should still be dominant on the boards though. No they don't. They are 153rd in defensive rebounds, with no player averaging 5.
