Here is something I wrote about the coaching search.

It'd be wise for everyone to acknowledge that the Saban deal was very much alive and well. Actually, better than alive and well. To dismiss it is to fall into the same sort of trap that engulfed Bill Powers and to let the collection of individuals that queered the deal, off the hook. Yes, it's past and it's time to move on. But to ignore how miserably that situation was handled to absolve some of their responsibility - and that is never a good idea.

I still remain skeptical of how close there was a deal with Saban. That is why I worded it that way. Not ignoring responsibility.
