I was at a bachelor party in winter park and heard the Saban news. I was/am so depressed and heart broken. Its like your fiancé breaking up with you. It freeken hurts. The emotional tie we make with a sports team is crazy. And to think that its your own people that hurt you.

There are only 2 coaches I consider A1 coaches, that are grand slam hires: Saban and Jim Harbaugh. I am not holding my breath and even thinking this could happen bc I dont want to get kicked in the balls again. Any other coach could come in do well but unless he wins a title or 2, i will always think about what could have been, what should have been. My heart is just torn between following the coaching search closely or just not giving a damn anymore.

When you start to believe something great is going to happen. When you let yourself get so excited when you are soo close to getting what you want and it doesnt happen at the last minute, you just feel that punch in the gut and it takes the wind out of you for a while. You just feel numbness for a while.

I know its football and my family and friends are healthy and that is more important but this just still hurts a few days later.

Anyone else feel like this?

It would have been a thrilling thing, but I was more interested in the job actually being open. Now it is, Im confident the right man will be hired.

Saban and Pete Carroll were not the first tier choices and look what theyve done.

Yes, pretty deflating no doubt. It was like a funeral but with food fights at a nearby diner . . . he he

For me, things need to make sense. The story we've heard about Mack/Powers and how it went down can reasonably be believed as it's in harmony from so many sources. And when it's all wrapped together at the end like this is, it makes sense. Thats easier to accept and move on from.

The news of Harbaugh, however, was like plugging yourself into a commercial-grade air compressor.

Shaw's being approached. Looks like we're chasing some proven people.

I'm continuing to like the Briles option more and more.

I'm placing some faith in Patterson. He's been given driving directions and a map on how to get there by the BMDs. Let's see where his road takes us.

And I agree. I'm betting we start finding it very difficult to find out where things are at. We'll see. Fun to be a Horn right now.

I felt the same way. I really enjoyed Mack Brown a lot and Thank him for the times but, I believe he really screwed us on the Saban deal and that really hurt.

Meh I wanted saban but he's not the only coach in the world or the only one who could win here. Neither is harbaugh

The important thing is Texas is making a change. Don't lose sight of that. I think Patterson is going to be a great AD and the future is bright. Just let it play out
