***Texas vs. Iowa State Game Thread***

@KansasBaylor

@OU

TCU

@Tech

After Kansas all those other games are very winnable. 3-2 or 4-1 finish and I'll be happy.
I agree, but that means nothing if we can't beat good teams on the road. Enter tournament exit tournament. We have to fix some things pretty quick like.

Big difference though between playing on a neutral court as opposed to a home court. Texas has shown the ability to win on the road this year too. Beat Baylor, WV, North Carolina, etc on the road. Just tough to beat Iowa State at home. Iowa state has only lost three games at home in 2 years.

This group for the most part is pretty inexperienced. I think they will get it eventually. If not this year, next year. I'm pinching myself we are 9-4.

I get that and I agree... But the taste of winning then it being pulled back to reality is tough! Haha

Taylor is damn good! Just want him to slow down a bit cause the rest of the team is not as quick or as fast as him and it creates turnovers.

Haven't proven to be able to beat GOOD teams on the road. Haha we have won on the road but only to average or below teams. So much potential on this team. Need better post play.

The starting five for Texas should be Lammert, Holmes, Ridley, Taylor and Holland. I've been thinking this for a while and this game solidified it for me. 1) We need more length on defense, especially when we play zone. 2) Lammert is a better shooter than Felix 3) Felix would provide some scoring off the bench. Might hurt our depth a little with big guys coming off the bench, but Barnes can figure out a rotation with Ridley/Lammert/Ibeh.

1) Bad news, the young Texas team struggled again on the road.

2) Good news, tonight is a prime example of why Ridley should stay another year. The pace of the game killed him, and he needs to develop up a face up game.

Lammert needs a RS year to add muscle. He was killed in the 2nd half when the game was close.

Ibeh was the best big tonight.

We need another perimeter shooter. All the Texas guards except Felix are scared to shoot it, which killed Texas in the 1st half.

UNC is an average team. Haha that's hilarious. You should probably not post on basketball threads if you really think that.

wtf are you talking about? Geeze dude, you are a horrible fan.

Get your facts straight before you make some bs advisement... UNC is a great program, however, they have not been great this year(see losses to UAB, Wake Forest, Miami, Belmont). This team isn't good on the road against good teams, and I'm hardly the only poster on this board to make that statement. UNC is a good win but they are an average team this year that is getting better as the season goes on. But thanks for your 2 cents.

we could not throw it in the ocean from the side of a boat.

Tech got screwed by a crucial no call last night, and the winning bucket was KU luck on a loose ball.

Exactly. Folks that want to over-analyze one road loss and extrapolate that into team flaws are misguided in this case. Texas didn't shoot well. Texas was careless with the ball. Do those 2 things on the road and you're going to lose nearly every time.
