Happy Thursday folks. Let's get some of the details for the series out of the way.

Game 1: Thursday, 8 PM CST (Kingham vs Bubic)

Game 2: Friday, 8 PM CST (Cooper vs Summerville)

Game 3: Saturday, 4 PM CST (Johnston vs Miller)

Game 4: Sunday, 2 PM CST (Henley vs Castellanos)

All games will be streamed on the Pac12-Now app and online, (also called Stanford Live Stream. Www.gostanford.com ) There will be no TV coverage outside of this, at least to my knowledge

This weekend is going to be in one thread. I'll provide game updates, possibly at the end of each inning unless something dictates something earlier. If you want batter-by-batter coverage, you can check out my Twitter feed @joeywa_44

Steady dose of Lefties. Stanford staff also has a 0.96 ERA over their last 6 games.

I hope to see some good discussion in here as we get rolling this evening.

What are your expectations for this series? I would take a series split given how good their pitching has been and how our bats have looked against good pitching. Would be huge for this team to split or win 3 of 4

Anything better than a split is a good in my book. We will know more after we see how they play tonight.

1. How good is Stanford? Are they the same Stanford we're used to seeing?

2. Could you provide a 1-5 ranking of our starting pitchers for us? Is it too early for that?

3. How are we doing against lefties?

Thanks in advance!!

Marc, the answer to question 1 is Yes. This Stanford team will be extremely sound fundamentally and can really really throw it.

Mark,

As Stark stated, yes, this team is good. Really good. Have talked to two players dads this afternoon, and both said the same, our on-conf schedule is a buzzsaw. And they're correct.

2. If I had to say, 1-5, Cooper, Kingham, Johnston, Henley, Mayes, Ridgeway. Know that's 6, but that is my thoughts early on.

3. Texas has done just "OK" vs LHPs thus far. Nothing to write home about as it's still to early to say definitively. We chased the stud from UConn fairly early but that was more due to his arm injury than anything else. Haven t seen a ton of them just yet.

Thanks.

Just ran into Coach Garrido. He agrees with my choice of polish dog and a Coke.

Stanford will change their DH when it comes time for him to bat. That's a quirk of the Stanford coach. Has been that way for years.

Got Roger and Reynolds over my left shoulder. Sitting right behind the UT on deck circle.

Beautiful night out here.

T1

Gurwitz K on 3 pitches, fouled one off

Kody battles a few off, 4-3 ground out

Reynolds HBP but Blue makes him stay as he didn't make an effort to avoid it. Works full count but Ks
