"@ChipBrownOB: Texas' new athletic director Steve Patterson will take over day to day operations in Austin by Dec. 1."

I'm tempted to send some packing boxes and tape over to Bellmont with a sign that says "Good luck with your job search." I hope Patterson starts with the media people and doesn't quite until the cuts are deep. One of the most exciting things about the Patterson era is the possibility of having people involved with the program that actually give a crap about managing the image of the program in a positive way and not in the heavy handed moronic way Nick Voinis and Bill Little have been doing. Bye a$$holes! :)

We get pantsed by Baylor on the 7th so hopefully he's sitting down with Briles on the 8th, only a week into the job.

Do u think he will make theses changes soon? Does he know what some of us know or will he listen to the BS that he will hear in the halls of Shitmont?

I think he will already be done analyzing the program and cutting the "fat." I imagine the changes will come quite quickly. Better save as pennies as you can from those pay checks you're stealing.

I sure hope if figures it out quickly. Those clowns are responsible for media marketing and brand management and they havd a fu@king enemies list they try to enforce. Can you imagine Disney, Dreamworks or any other entertainment marketing group treating part of its core market as a fu@king enemy?!

For all he has done well, Deloss didn't have a clue how to use any type of social media or how to relate to internet based resources for connecting with the fanbase. He has people in key positions who are similarly clueless. When is the last time any of us saw anything produced for the internet or social media that was produced by Bellmont? When is the last time any of us heard of Bellmont reached to any of the sites like HornSports, IT, BON, etc to give core fans anything interesting?

Even if Patterson is as clueless as Deloss on ways to use media to engage fans, I hope he is at least sharp enough to ask people for ideas. A lot of clueless people are successful. All it takes is to reach out to others who aren't so clueless. Nick, Bill and the rest of the Bellmont staff who have considered parts of the fanbase as enemies will never rebuild their relationship with the fans they have scorned for so long. They can hang on if they want to, but unless Patterson wants to maintain an enemies list and maintain it like Deloss did, the media crew inside Bellmont might as well just resign now.

I guess starting Dec 1 we are going to find out whether Patterson is going to attack the problems within the program or if its just more of the same.

I'm excited about the prospects of Patterson taking over. I think he's going to come in and make some changes that are going to be very beneficial for the entire athletic department.

I'm very hopeful that Patterson will in fact make sweeping changes to the Texas Athletic Program. As is everyone else on this site, I'm sure. But I must admit, I'm hesitant to get my hopes up until January when we should have an idea of whether it will be more of the same or not.

I read on OB we have 500 athletes and 400 employees in the athletic department. That seems out of whack but what do I know.

Jesus.....What the hell are 400 people doing?
The guys are apparently sitting around playing pocket pool while the ladies are shopping online and checking their makeup.
