Hahaha! Living in East TN (Knoxville area) I was able to experience the huge letdown and depression expressed by these folks.

Last night via Facebook, several of these TN fans were cheering for Auburn to win, and when they went down the posts came out of how horrible the refs were and how great they are because they won 7 straight.

This morning I see my brother in law and father in law (Vol fan) and asked if they watched the game. A huge frown comes across my BIL's face and he says it stunk because he wanted the SEC to win. I just laughed and then he reiterated that the SEC had won so many in a row. My FIL was a bit more classy, saying it was a good game, but then he threw a gem out about how Auburn didn't have that great a defense and other SEC defenses this year were better, specifically Alabama. I didn't say anything back to him due to respect, but I'm sure you all know what I was thinking.

SEC fans. Smh.

I love it. My Uncle is an LSU guy and I'm thankful that he isn't under the same SEC delusion.

SEC Diehards are in for a rude awakening in the years to come. I really think the SEC is nearing exposure. I see another power-shift coming.

That streak would have been less impressive if Colt had played the whole game. He would have shredded Bama.

Too bad you couldn't say "ask OU how good that Bama defense is". lol. I get the respect thing though. My FIL is a huge Bama fan and for his sake I didn't say anything to him after their beatdown.

I am sure there will be a SEC support group on Finebaum's show today.

Of all the crazy things I have heard from SEC and Alabama fans was three years ago when a Bama fan declared that Alabama could win the NFC West.

No doubt about it. Never played-true freshman-5 turnovers-qb replaces winningest QB in college history and still within 3 with 3 to go in the game.

I peeked at Texags. The usual borderline racist stuff (some pretty flagrant - a thread about locking up all the white women for the night) about Winston. To your point though, these aggy's entire identity is tied to how the SEC does. It's embarrasssing to read, well if you were an aggy it should be. Thread after thread of melting down over another school in their conference losing.

I hate the SEC. I used to like several SEC teams, but the whole group think stuff is repulsive. I do not get the cheer for your conference thing. Sure, you should have pride in a tough conference, but these yahoos actually act as if their team won the MNC when it was their rival!

that is their lifestyle and its because it is all they have. 7 straight is an amazing feat but to give an excuse of "bad defense" is a joke.

i had a friend tell me that florida state is like the sec and because of that, sec "should be 8 straight." seriously, no joke.

Hey y'all, SEC Fan here. We're not all conference loyalists, I was rooting for Jimbo.

That said, keep in mind that a lot of people say the EXACT same things about how cocky Big 12 fans are and how much is left to be desired in terms of schedule strength.

Just saying. Glass houses.

Sorry, but it's a different animal with the SEC when that's all you hear from not only the fans, but the media as well.

Clemson took down Ohio State (non-SEC related, but a feather for ACC)

Florida State took down Auburn

Oklahoma took down Alabama

A&M squeaked by Duke by the hair of their chinny chin chin.

Florida didn't play

Missouri did themselves proud

Vandy I think won?

Didn't follow LSU, assume they won easily

Anyway... Clemson and Fl-State capping off a great year for the ACC, which I take is looked down upon by the SEC.

Last night, Florida State won the title. I did not feel their conference won. Only SEC is into the brotherhood thing.

You think that, but I'm telling you that I've listened in on plenty of Big 12 bashing and conversations about how Texas has destroyed the conference, how Big 12 fans are all elitist assholes and how the schedules are laughable. When in Portland or NY, it's not the SEC my friends make fun of. You won't see me heckling anybody about it though.

SEC fans are cocky and it's fun to knock them off their high-horse, but let's be fair when passing judgment, there's plenty of criticism to go around.

And that's fair.

It's just different living in East TN where they live their dreams through the conference since the Vols suck.

For example, after my Father In Law found out that Strong came to Texas, he was shocked and dumbfounded and wondered out loud why Strong would turn down Tennessee last year, but come to Texas this year. After all, Tennessee is an SEC school! It defied all logic to him.

Kinda like Bama fans swearing to the good Lord above that Austin had nothing to offer that NS couldn't find in Tuscaloosa? Trust me, I totally appreciate the SEC arrogance. My Facebook was flooded with it, too. It's endearing to me, in a 'feeling of home' kind of way. Probably why I'm defensive of it, even if I think it's idiotic, you know?

Awe man, I really wanted to bash SEC fans but you kind of ruined it for me. Touché whatthewhat, touché. ;)

Good story Lukus. Loved it.

Been there, done that, with some of my SEC friends.

So nice to see their top 2 teams go down to defeat in the BCS bowls.

What I recommend is whenever talking to a LSU grad get them going about how the SEC scheduling is screwing them and favoring Bama. We need to spread discord one SEC fan at a time.

The SEC was a lot funner when they were hating each other and turning in each other for cheating;-)
