Ricky Jacquez has been dismissed from the University of Texas baseball team due to violations of team policy the athletics department administration and head coach Augie Garrido confirmed.

He was hungover when he took the mound and was quickly pulled back into the dugout. Basicallly he partied like it was 1999 - with the hometown ladies of Missouri.

Jacquez had his chances and the Mizzou trip was the last straw. Supposedly he was partying with girls close to the Mizzou team which pissed A LOT of people off. Evidently Jacquez had a tough time filtering appropriate vs. not appropriate. Sad way for him to go out. This story is bad but moreover what do we do with our team? Regionals are coming up soon.

Jacquez was reached by phone this afternoon, but said he had no comment, only that he is still working on resolving his situation with the Texas coaches.

I would not have thought there was a chance in hell he would come back but you never know.

Ricky is not coming back. You do not let a guy go and then come back within the next few weeks. Jacquez is a frosh and has not performed great this year. High ERA and the off the field issues make him a liability.

What's worse? A little pot or being hungover after poon-hounding the ladies in Columbia? Jacquez didn't get arrested like Etier did. I guess Garrido just had enough of the episodes.

Etier's mistake was during the offseason and once the charges were dropped, Augie and Dodds decided to give him a second chance. Ricky was already on his second chance when he decided to put himself ahead of the team and get so wasted he couldn't start.

That was not the 1st time or the 2nd time that Etier was in Augie's doghouse. Also, it happen during fall scrimmage. Augie has set the precedent. Now the ball is in Ricky's court and it will be up to him to prove to every one that he can correct his mistake and move forward.

I still don't see him coming back. Etier had been in the doghouse previously, but he at least spread it out. Ricky managed to mess up his first chance to return after a suspension. That doesn't really show the ability to learn from his mistakes to me.
