Rick Barnes - For or Against? Who would YOU hire if Against?

Pretty self explanatory poll here.

Ill point out that for money, we could get alot better than Barnes....but with the crap facilities and lackluster fan support, we arent going to get much better.

Barnes is a dick in my opinion.

I think the lack of a quality facility hurts recruiting, but it is the continued recruitment of one and done players that is hurting this program.

I am all over the place on this.

Do we go after a mid major coach or a premier program assistant? I think Barnes needs to win a championship in the next 3 years or we might be looking elsewhere. Things can always be worse guys. I think Barnes has a 70-72 % winning percentage. Not bad if I do say so my damn self.

Barnes continues to make NCAA tourneys and he will be at Texas. Trust me.

Depends on how satisfied the fans are with putting only a winning product on the field. Administration included. Texas basketball games are like a family event and not a rowdy student-driven scene. That's why I think it is acceptable. The premium has not been placed on Horns basketball like it has been with football. Until a paradigm shift occurs and UT makes it a priority then Barnes is a good fit.

Good fit.....or good enough. Mack embraced Texas and the fans. I think Barnes could care less. If Mack treated players and gans like Barnes does, we'd be 8-4 every year.

Dodds is fully capable of reaching out quietly to a guy like Shaka Smart. Would it hurt?

Karen Aston has at least attempted to reach out and assemble a fan base.

Not to make this about women's basketball but yeah - I agree Aston has a different "pep" in her actions and discourse. I remember when we first brought Barnes in and we were wondering who the heck this former Clemson coach was. 5 years later he took us to a final four and we have been hungry ever since (God bless TJ Ford). Like I said until Texas is ready to invest in a basketball program, facilities and coach included, we will keep chipping away at NCAA tourney appearances and hopefully geting lucky with a deep run. Just saying that it is not all Barnes' fault.

Shaka Smart has made two great tourney runs with guys who couldnt sniff a shot at Texas, with less money and far worse facilities. Barnes is a dick.
