...RECRUITMENT STRONGHAUL 2014...

texas has been out of sync as per recruitment for far too long. as we are more than aware, the 2014 "under armor classic" was a startling testament as per just how hollow texas recruitment options have become. (it had to be one of the most distasteful sporting events, as per any true longhorn fan to ever focus upon)

now comes along our new head coach charlie strong... for we are now starting to witness before our very eyes.... a new as well as stimulating resurgence as per recruitment, that we just have not experienced in quite some time. sure, texas gets it's recruits each year! for we are texas... and we shall expect nothing less, than top flight players wanting to reside a while upon the fair city of austin. however, today's recruits very often are turned on to "glamour" and let's face it.... texas has been everything but "glamorous" these past few years.

recruits, are now taking a new approach as per the texas longhorns. THIS RESURGENCE SHALL BE INDEED GRAVY. for we have been a good and decent football program... and we deserve this new found attention vs respect. but i guess that this is something that we upon longhorn nation is just going to now get used too. because, every time i discover that a new recruit has just decided to decommitt as per their chosen school in reference to texas... i must admit, it stings my very conscience a bit. (is this a good thing?) or is it that us texans, just have an over abundance of compassion. (we just do not like taking from others) the recruitment business... is just that a business. and sometime ruthless behavior just comes with the territory.

but man... it does sting a bit. is it just me?

Texas had the 3rd overall class in 2011. They had the 2nd overall class in 2012. And then they had the 24th overall class in 2013. I'd say we've been managing just fine in recruiting. Texas hasn't had a problem getting the recruits, they've had a problem developing them.

If coaches move around then the kids should certainly have an option to do the same. That's why there is a specific signing day. Plus, they're kids. They have a lot of decisions to make and many of them have not had to make such decisions before in their lives.

I was going to say the same thing this senior and junior classes were ranked high. I think we got the right man for all this talent to do something with it wish we were more stable at the QB position.

I tried to follow your writing....but I missed something. Did you write that you want us to take recruits from other schools. If so OK

...yes. your take is indeed correct my friend. my dilemma is... is that once we snatch a recruit as per another institution, it always make me feel guilty to some degree. (just a bit too much compassion vs respect for others) i guess.

There was so much dissounance and head coach eccentricity infecting MBTF, that it's almost impossible to determine where the fault line lies between faulty recruiting evaluation and ineffective player development. Sometimes a recruiting class can be highly ranked, but not adequately address the roster's position needs. You cannot count on high school prospects developing into great D-1 players when they aren't held accountable for weight training and film room work. When a head coach with a tendency to award playing time based on seniority over capability, you further clog the equation. Finally, top it all off with a complacent AD and a gutless UT President, both openly proud of the athletic welfare program they're enabling, and unwilling to demand championships.
