People need to calm down on recruiting and give Strong some time. Losing recruits is all part of the process. I expected us to lose 5-7 recruits. When you clean house on the coaching staff, you are going to see kids decommit. Be glad we are taking the right steps and getting rid of coaches that haven't been very good for a while.

Let Strong get his staff together and he will pick up some recruits before signing day, and we will be in about the same position as we are now in recruiting. Much rather lose some 3 and 4 star players now, and get a competent staff together that can win games and pick up 5 stars in the future.

Some attrition was to be expected, but some flips were to be expected as well. Be patient and wait for our turn - it's going to be bloody and I mean in a good way.

Those getting ready to jump off of a cliff need to ask a question...of the two who have backed out, were we really counting on either? The S.A. kid with the unpronounceable name is allegedly a malcontent who got kicked off the field in several games this past season. He's also been shopping around for another team and threatening to back out of his commitment for at least a couple of months. The Louisiana kid has grade issues that were probably gonna send him to a junior college before he'd ever see a big school campus. The really important players in the '14 class are still committed, even if a couple of them are asking some questions or visiting another school or two. Conclusion? The sky is not falling.

I don't think most fans are freaking out about recruiting. Strong will do his thing and this team will be a defensive juggernaut.

I think most fans are pissed off at the potential OC hire.

Jah'Shawn is a really good player, his dad is Keith Davis, former Dallas Cowboy safety. Glad to see a Ellis County kid get a UT offer and it might help us get Lockhart next year. The 4.77 must have been a bad day, I know that he plans to run track at college also. He is an easy flip if they show him some love.

#14 ranked DT Rivals who decommit from Miami (now shows LSU as leader). Top 100 national.

Seems that Coach Strong saw a problem (the UT d-line situation) and is working hard to fix it.

The way I look at it as well is that some of the verbals, while fit what the previous regime was looking for, may or may not fit what they current regime wants.

Strong and this new staff most likely have different things the look for in a recruit than Mack and company.

While I don't know Strong philosophy regarding the current verbals, he may fight harder for some and not as hard for others that are wavering.

No doubt that Mr. Valentine is a legitimate DT, but my concern, assuming he chose the song/music to accompany his video, is what is his true character. I do trust Coach Strong and know that should this young man be under consideration that Coach Strong will perform his due diligence in his thorough assessment of Mr. Valentine.

Burton is saying a new offer has been made for a pretty big recruit in 2014 on Twitter. Anyone know who it is? Also, said he's visiting this weekend. Could be someone already being discussed on this thread, but it sounds like it's someone new.

Looks like Alex Anderson, he's an ASU commit and someone on 247 changed their prediction today to Texas. Wickline apparently recruited him pretty hard at OSU, so I think we have a good shot at getting him.

Edit: He actually de-committed a couple days ago so that's got to be who Burton is talking about.
