Potential recruits...

As I look at the Rivals board by position, I find that in almost every category there are top notch recruits who haven't yet committed. This Defensive End is just one example:

He seems willing to go far from home with visits to Ohio State, Stanford and UCLA. His visits also suggest that he is looking for a good academic school (and his glasses make him look smart! ; ) )

Here is another example from California. I am assuming he is Polynesian...but regardless, he is Leonard Davis huge!

what about this guy who has only had one visit to UCLA? He is from Louisiana, but Texas is far closer and his family (and he) may like the idea of him being at a good school closer to home.

Damien Mama is probably going to BYU or staying in California. There aren't enough Mormons in Texas to get him interested. Never hurts to try though.

Solomon Thomas is currently at Stanford (or somewhere in California) and he just received his acceptance letter from Stanford. I know that isn't set in stone because he probably has an acceptance letter from UT as well, but he is pretty pumped about Stanford. I think he is Stanford bound.

Stanford has been his top choice, the acceptance letter is something that he has been waiting for. Texas is still in it but will have to put a lot of work in to get him. He is not making his choice until signing day or right before signing day so UT has a little time but it will be tough.

He has stated he would like to talk with Strong and visit Texas, but it would take a lot to pry him away from Stanford. That was just idiotic to say the Wyoming comment. Yeah that sucks about Thomas. Maybe we will still have a slim shot after this weekend, but he has been really high on Stanford for a long time. Our season and all the losing really screwed us. But our new coaching staff is going to recruit like gangbusters. We will be fine.

+1000!! Strong is doing a great job hiring his staff. We will make up some ground on a lot of kids and get visits from some that haven't been on our radar! The next few weeks will be fun to watch.

Not saying UT is not a GREAT academic school, because it's one of the highest rated schools in the country. However, schools like Stanford, Duke and any in the IVY league have a prestigious moniker surrounding them. Stanford just so happens to have a very good football program to go along with it.

Any news on Isiah Ford? I know he was interested in Louisville, but there were reports he wasntes to look at Texas
