If only more professional athletes were like Payton Manning. The Colts wanted to give him 6 years and $100 million and he said that was not nesessary. He took 90 million and 6 years so that the Colts could hopefully use that remaining $10 million to hold on to guys like Joe Addai as well as maybe pick up some free agents that might help the team win. Peyton Manning is the epitome of class.

No doubt. Solid guy, great quarterback and funny actor on Saturday Night Live.

Only in professional sports would be giving a guy a kudos for signing a 90 million dollar contract..BTW Dirk Nowitski took a 30 million dollar hit to help the Mavs and they used the money to win a World Championship..

Oh come on Bevomav... Turning down 10 mil is fairly admirable. How many players in the NFL can you think of that would have done that? That kind of benevolence is not exactly prevalent in the league... Most players would have grabbed the money AND gloated about being the highest paid player in league history. 10 million is a load of cash.

I am not saying it wasn't a nice gesture but he still got $90,000,000.00...

When you are riding the coattails of your daddy, whaddya expect? He is a gifted athlete but would have nowhere near the hype if were not Archie's son.

Oh come on. Coat tails of his dad? Archie Manning was an icon for New Orleans Saints football but was never the athlete Peyton or Eli are today. Archie never won a Super Bowl. Peyton is a Hall of Fame NFL qb, plain and simple.
