So what has Overstreet done to get the treatment he is getting? He was leading rusher with 9 carries for 92 yards. Of course it was against a tired defense, but still made the most of the opportunity. Since then he has gotten one touch. So does anyone know the reason? Is he hurt, in the dog house, or just not good enough to get anymore carries?

You've got to find a way to get him on the field. Utilize his athletic ability in some way. That's the job of the coach.

He would be dominating at many other schools. Watching him against NMSt reminded me of the 6'0+ athletes that LSU and Bama have running the football at times. Super athletic/strong and hard to bring down.

His lack of use has me worried about a transfer. At least put him on KO return with Daje over Bergeron.

Jalen had a groin issue following NMSU. I think he has been back at full speed for a few weeks but that was my understanding that the groin was keeping him from getting reps.

We need to get him some serious reps. At one point in the off-season I heard it was almost certain that he would be moving to safety. Kid is an athlete and he needs to play. Let's throw him in the mix at QB.

I would bet he is gone after this year unless there is a medical reason. If he stays on O he will prob he passed up by some of the newcomers thru no fault of his own. A new coach w/ actual coaching ability may be able to convince him otherwise.

The kid has jets. I have high hopes for him. I assumed he stopped getting reps b/c we were holding him as a backup QB after Ash's injury. Assuming he is not injured, if he doesn't get on the field at Kansas, I don't know if we'll see him again this year.

I hate seeing talent get wasted like that, especially what Mack did you DJ Monroe and Goodwin. He needs to be utilized more instead of being on the bench.

In talking to sources close to him, he was warned before he committed this is how the scenario would play out, and was strongly encouraged to go to Baylor, but he wanted in his heart to be a Longhorn.

There are rumors floating that he has trouble picking up things (the DJ Monroe treatment there) and he has been moved around a ton, the last being he was going to play defense going into the spring.

Doesnt seem like a transfer has came up yet, but I wouldnt be shocked if he looked after the season.

You just read my mind.....

nice pic.

A new coaching staff could change his mind, but we'll see.

Man if he were at Baylor I bet they'd be finding ways to get him the ball one way or another. Either that or they'd find a way to turn him into another RG3 or something.

To be clear: The mental thing is a total smoke screen. He knows the offense better than 99% of the team.

We have seen this 20 times before. It should not surprise us, Mack apparently doesn't think fast talented guys are smart.

More BS from Mack.

Are y'all wanting JO in as a RB or QB? I seem to remember reading last year that he had a gun for an arm. But it was a shotgun: all over the place.

I do agree he has talent we need to use at its best possible place though.

I've been wondering the same thing since the second week. Why would you not try to get him on the field. There has certainly been plenty of opportunities the past few weeks.

No way an insider, but this is what I am hearing from those that are close to him. He wants to be a Longhorn and get his degree from UT. He is just very frustrated. There has been times that they could have put him in to play but are unwilling.

I think the only reasonable way to get JO involved is with a very heavy ground game. I personally wouldn't bench Gray, Brown or Johnson in favor of Jalen. That may change if he were to get a few meaningful series. He was in late in the game against a NMSU team that was sporting a 0 in the wins column until this past weekend. NMSU was demoralized, physically and mentally and flat checked out of our game before halftime.

From what we know and have seen in reliable game time, the RB order should look like Gray > Johnson > Brown > Overstreet. That's a pretty strong stable of backs.
