Am I the only one who came away disappointed after watching this last night?

First of all, there's way too much overacting in it.  The guy playing Gordon had some really cheesy lines and all of his conversations with Bruce are far too over-the-top for a normal convo with a kid.

Then there's the fact that they just HAD to continually introduce main characters from the movies.  Not necessary, in my opinion.

They just seemed like they tried too hard to make it like a comic instead of making it a bit more realistic like it seemed they were going for in the previews.

I feared that this would be the case. I DVR'd it last night and will watch it at some point this week. Donal Logue was the name that inspired me to give it a chance.

LOL. . . .and you wonder why you take so much grief. . .

A) it's TV. . . you are seldom going to get great acting (not that you would know great acting anyway). .

B  )  It's based on a cartoon. . . .that we figured you'd love

C)  It's Fox. . .. I can't think of a really good (even for TV) show coming out of Fox. . .

But if it's cartoon's to real drama you want, my son and I enjoy Marvel Agents of Shield. . .

;)

Were you expecting Casablanca???    Oh wait. . .you thought that sucked. . . . Shawshank Redemption?   Oh wait, you thought that sucked too .. . OK, Lady and the Tramp?

I very much disagree with Point A. Whilst you're right that this is Fox and therefore expectations can be lowered, simply being a TV show doesn't result in inferior acting. There are plenty of excellent actors who have made their careers on television. Michael C. Hall, Idris Elba, Benedict Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman just to name a few. I've reached the point that I've found myself enjoying television more than most films. There is a reason that you're seeing actors like Matthew McConaughey, Woody Harrelson, Colin Farrell, Kevin Costner, Sean Bean, John Malkovich and Billy Bob Thornton all doing stints on Television. TV is upping it's standards and with that, we're seeing some great actors.

While you are semi-correct. . .you seldom see quality acting on "regular" TV . .. .most of the actors you named star/appear on either pay per view (HBO Showtime etc) or channels like A&E where you have a niche market. . . You left off Kevin Spacey and Robin Wright on NetFlix and House of Cards.  ..

I should have been more specific so my fault. . . . .

Watch the Mindy Project tonight on Fox.  Such a hilarious show! It's like OB/GYN meets Sex in the City.

Yeah, I'm terrible about naming too many things when providing examples so I've started trying to "teach myself". As I left Bryan Cranston off the list of notable TV actors as well.

A) Disagree. To name a few with good to great acting recently: LOST, 24, House, The Office, Sherlock Holmes (BBC)
B ) That's neither here nor there

C) Again, 24 is at or near the top of the list. Also, House was good. Both on Fox.

Furthermore, while Casablanca was a total snoozefest, I never said I didn't like Shawshank. In fact, it's one of my top films of all time, even if a guilty man ended up escaping from prison to end the movie.

A) Sleepy Hollow The Last Ship. Tyrant. Bones. Rush. IMO the acting in these shoes is good.

Last ship is pretty good but it's not "regular" TV but one of the cable networks. . .as I mentioned. . .that is where you find most of the quality shows. .

Rush started well but appears to be running out of steam early. . . .but it is well done. . .

Again, on regular TV, well written well acted shows are the exception not the rule. . .

Gotham is cheesy but it is a comic based show .. . .I didn't watch it expecting House of Cards. . .

just sayin. . .

To claim Casablanca is a snooze fest .. .hey, I get it's not as action packed as Shrek or Toy Story .. . . pretty much says it all. . . .
