Oregon Unveils "Mach Speed" Uniforms for Alamo Bowl | AthlonSports.com

many of us are already keenly aware, of the university of oregon's unique penchant for introducing a huge smorgasbord of sometimes controversial uniforms, as per many of their forthcoming gridiron events. the university of oregon, has never been known as per having boat loads of money... which should hereby allow for them to consistently finance these adventurous / innovative high profile items. for those that are in the know... it is also well known that the "nike corp" based in eugene, oregon... is primarily responsible as per sponsoring many or most of these uniform design concepts.

from the outside looking in... i for one would like to "take my hat off" to the "nike corp" for constantly trying in earnest to offer inspiration to the university of oregon, through their unique partnership vs sponsorship. but to some, it may seem that the university of oregon, may indeed harbor an unfair sponsorship advantage as per all things "nike".

which now leads us to the aforementioned "valero bowl". shall the "nike corp", which also has an apparel partnership with the university of texas... offer a specific "valero" uniform design for texas? just as they did as per the "red river rivalry" with oklahoma.... i guess this shall remain to be seen.

should they not... how shall texas respond as per their own form of inspiration as per the texas longhorns? this event shall need to offer balance / fairness.

I personally think all the focus on uniforms is stupid.. The uniform will not make one tackle, catch a pass, get a sack.. Stanford punched Oregon in the face piss on flashy.

The texas longhorns all white uniforms are by far the best uniforms in college to me, now if they decided to do something to they home uniforms im not opposed. I would love to see an all black uniform with a burnt orange chrome style helmet

Excuse my French, but F@#K Oregon and the constantly changing uniforms. The uniforms don't make one damn bit of difference. Oregon is quickly fading back to the pack where they came from. Chip Kelly and his street agent network are gone (at least partially).

Don't worry about it. Send Mack out with a WIN. That is what we should be looking at. TEXAS Fight!!!!

I can agree to some extent with the OP, however, I think Nike is guilty of overkill with their uniform treatment. The one thing Oregon doesn't have is a traditional uniform or look.

They wear one uniform on a particular Saturday, then the look is gone. Texas wears their tighty whiteys, kids see that and dream about playing in that uniform.

There is a such a thing as too much splash.

I remember when Patterson came in he talked about finding new and creative ways to further the UT brand. I hope changing classic uniforms is not one of them. Texas all white away uniforms are some of the greatest.

Many of the younger kids today find changes to uniforms on a regular basis very appealing. Times are changing, and the game has changed a lot too. And with a new AD and new HC, I can't help but wonder if that would be an inevitable shift in Texas football.

I tend to agree that you can have to much splash. I do like the traditional Texas uniforms but I think it would be cool to change it up once and a while. Even though many people think this school of thought is ridiculous, the kids think it is cool and might help with recruiting.

Agree if you do that with the home burnt orange from time to time. I would not mess with the away uniforms. They simply cannot be improved upon.

Our home unis don't have that "wow" the same as the away unis, IMO.
