Is the University of Texas football program better off today with Charlie Strong & who ever he brings in on his staff without the recruits who just decommitted then still having Mack Brown & his staff with all the current recruits. I think the answer is pretty simple to answer. Hell yes we are better off.

Agreed.... Give the man a chance, jeez.... He's been doing this for a living for a long time and just

may, possibly know a little more than us arm chair QB's...

I think we won't really know until we see the product on the field. But the potential is definitely there!

A change was needed in so many ways. I think Strong brings change in most of the areas that we needed.

This from one of Mack's biggest supporters . ..

A resounding YES

Our program has plateaued . . .this is not 2002/2003 where those who looked long term could see growth .. .

When you make changes. . .commits rethink. . .don't over react but rather think long term. ..now granted. . .losing Henderson and potentially the LB hurts but those are short term losses . ..

Not uncommon that with change. . .we often have to take a step backward before you start moving forward. .

But it is the nature of TEXAS fans to over react. .over think. . .or read too much into what is not there . ..and I'll wager Charlie will fill the spots we've lost . .

Still think we land S Thomas Freeman and at least one other. .maybe the aggie DB commit. . .now that would be sweet. .

I don't think we're overreacting, I think we're just discussing things that interest us.

There is always going to be turnover with a new staff and such. I'm glad we are ridding ourselves of players who don't plan on buying into the program early on. Better now than in a year!

I hope the news is true concerning Whiteley, we need a TE to come in and help immediately. TE are a QB's best friend in the passing game!

Exactly.

The answer can still be a yes and the answer to people being unhappy that the hire at OC with Watson can still be a hell no.

You aren't playing the game correctly. The game is: Bleat and complain about problem "A." Pay passing attention to problem "B" and ignore problems "C" and lower. Solve problem "A." Move problem "B" to the level of bleating and complaining as the previous problem "A" and relabel as problem "A." Move all other problems up one level and relabel appropriately. Repeat as long as people are willing to listen to you and until you pass out drunk. Score one point if, when you wake up hungover, you still remember what the original problem "A" was. A bonus point is given if the original problem "A" even still matters.

I wonder what has them rethinking. I hope Charlie is the one telling them to look elsewhere.

Indeed

HELL YES I agree with you. Now, if all the hand wringing can stop from a Bobby Burton report on what he's getting from Bellmont (OC-related). He's somewhat backed down from the news saying full answers will likely be known within the week. Also, hope the Wickline news comes to fruition.

+1 We need to relax and enjoy the ride. The strong era has begun! Are we getting a Spring Game tailgate together yet?

Absolutely, I'm not the least bit concerned about those kids decommitting. Expect hiccups, culture change doesn't happen overnight.

Since all three decommits were DTs, I'm thinking it's a position recruiter familiarization/loyalty thing.

Yes. I certainly think so, and I would include "with whoever he brings as staff" as well.

This is like when the president chooses his cabinet. It's his choice. We hired him. We take who he wants. He's entitled to hire his own staff because that's who he is going to to live and die by. It's not our place to critique his choices right now IMO
