NEWS ALERT : TE Darius Terrell and DB Eryon Barnett to transfer

Per reports from the university, Terrell and Barnett have decided to transfer. Terrell, a sophomore tight end has one careers reception at UT while Barnett, a junior defensive back missed the entire 2011 season due to injury. I am surprised Terrelll elected to transfer. I know McFarland is the started this season but after that we are thin. Terrell could have played a little and helped the team out in my opinion. Barnett is a different story.

We need tight ends! We wait a year before Durham Smythe gets here but Mack needs to offer another tight end in the '13 class pretty quick. Christian Morgan?

D.J. Grant, Barrett Matthews, Luke Poehlmann, MJ McFarland. Texas has four tight ends on the roster with Terrell leaving. We all good.

I get the Terrell transfer. Coming from a program like Trinity and having the size he had, I was hoping Barnett would be much better and could have a huge impact as a big

DB.

With four tight ends,and a very talented and deep defensive backfield unit these 2 had no shot at starting.Good luck to them though

Attrition is not always good but in this case it doesn't sting too much. Plus it opens up scholarships which, in a tight recruiting year like Texas is experiencing, helps out!
