AUSTIN – Texas on Friday announced it had finalized a pair of future home-and-home series with Florida and Arizona State through the 2033 season. It also reached an agreement with UTSA and UTEP to host those programs at Royal-Memorial Stadium in alternating years from 2024-31.
Texas will travel to Gainesville to face Florida on Sept. 7, 2030. The Gators will travel Sept. 6, 2031. The schools have not met since a home-and-home series in 1939-40. Texas leads the series 2-0-1.
On Sept. 11, 2032, Texas will travel to Tempe, Ariz., to face the Sun Devils. Arizona State will play in Austin on Sept. 10, 2033.UT and ASU have played just once, meeting in San Diego for a Holiday Bowl game that the Longhorns won, 52-34.
UT will host UTSA on Sept. 14, 2024, Sept. 19, 2026, Sept. 16, 2028 and Sept. 14, 2030. UTEP will travel to Austin on Sept. 13, 2025, Sept. 18, 2027, Sept. 15, 2029 and Sept. 13, 2031. The Longhorns also added one additional home game with UTSA on Sept. 17, 2022
Due to these scheduling alterations Texas and South Florida agreed to cancel games planned for 2022 and 2024. UT will still host USF on Sept. 5, 2020, at Royal-Memorial Stadium.
The Longhorns also added a season-opening home game with Colorado State on Aug. 31, 2024. Texas has faced CSU just once, hosting the Rams in 1975 and winning, 46-0.
These future dates dull any hope of Texas and Texas A&M reconnecting on the field anytime soon. Texas athletic director Chris Del Conte placed a call to his A&M coutnerpart Scott Woodward last year to try and setup a home-and-home series in 2022 and 2023.
