Texas is not the only team to have players who were good but not great in college but then become stars in the NFL..but..I have found my pick as the next guy to do just that.
Following in the footsteps of Jamal Charles and Priest Holmes I give you wide receiver Mike Davis.
Coming out of Skyline HS in Dallas, the Davis ranked the number two recruit in Texas, behind only fellow Longhorn recruit Jackson Jeffcoat of Plano West.
His Freshman year was pretty good as he caught 47 passes for 478 yards and 2 td's. He followed with a Sophomore year where he caught 45 passes for 609 yards and 3 td's. This season he has caught 19 passes for 263 yards and 3 td's.
The thing is Mike is bigger than he looks(6'2) and very fast(4.3). One scouting combine has him rated #19 out of 399 wide receivers.
Mike is my pick for the next guy to be better in the NFL than College..Do you have one?
