I like Chip. I always have. I also believe Chip has gotten a bad wrap throughout the years. I don't believe Chip has an agenda. I believe Chip reports what he hears, just like I do. Doing so puts you in the cross hairs. You are praised when you get it right and castrated when you don't. That certainly makes one rethink sharing the blow by blow because if the outcome does not turn out the way it appeared it would, some will never forgive you.

Chip believes the Saban deal has fallen through because Mack if refusing to get out of the way. That is a fair assessment. Mine and Shuttlesworth's sources believe that unless something goes drastically wrong, Saban will be in Austin next year. Keep in mind Saban bought a house in Austin. Do you really think he would have if he did not want to be the HC at Texas.

Mack feels like Saban undermined him by allowing Sexton to meet with our powerbrokers and Mack is going to do his best to prevent Saban from ever ending up on the 40 acres. If Mack can scare Saban off by threats of suing Sexton & party, he will. Mack does not care what any of us think of him anymore. Mack & Sally truly believe UT has done them wrong. They have the jilted lovers syndrome.

I saw where Chip & Jason got sideways with Shaunsters last night. That is unfortunate. They are all good people. OB's has been beat to punch on several stories simply due to the fact they have a different philosophy of releasing certain information. Until JS joined IT and I joined Hornsports, OB was the only game in town. Competition makes us all better.

Regardless to how this turns out, Jesus Shuttlesworth, Chip Brown and Jason S, are good people in my book and we should all appreciate the job they are trying to do.

I'm still trying to get my head around Mack threatening a lawsuit, but I guess it's happening. If true, it's a shame that he's let his ego override the reality of his past 4 years at UT. It simply wasn't working and he didn't live up to the preseason agreement that HE made with the BOR and BMDs, Big 12 title or bust.

Powers and Jamail need to pull him aside and tell him to STFU. At this point, that's what is best for The University.

in a matter of 24 hours going from updating their coaching board to move Saban up a bit, to touting Fisher as the #1 guy in their chat, to saying Saban is nearly totally dead, to now this morning going down their own list all the way to James Franklin and that he is who people should be watching? Thats just crazy

The problem with OB is how insecure the mods are. They think it's a slap in the face when they are challenged on their info, especially by subscribers that inside info like McPhaul and Shaunsters. OB mods try to portray themselves as "journalists" instead of message board moderators. They try to put themselves above subscribers who have inside info. In reality, Chip Brown is the only "journalist" and he was on top of a lot of stories over the past few years, but on OB he's still just a message board writer with sources that are often times wrong.

OB is still the king of college message boards and the mods have no reason to be so freakin insecure. If they would humble themselves and not get baited by their critics, OB would be a much better place.

I got sideways with Ketch and Chip last week. Chip told me something at an event we were both at and then reported something quite different to the Orangebloods board. I called him out on it and Ketch blacklisted me. If you don't think there is an agenda over there now, for whatever reason (future power play positioning with Hicks and new regime is my guess), then you are mistaken. I like what McPhaul and company are doing over here. The board is much more professional and I certainly hope it stays that way!

Have you ever driven in very heavy fog? That is exactly what it is like trying to get the correct information on the Saban saga.

I get emails & PM's from people I don't know telling me all kinds of things. Don't get me wrong, I appreciate those people taking the time to share with me. However, I'm also aware that I have been thrown a few curve balls with the intent to make me post something stupid.

I'll agree with you until you get to Jason S. He is an A-hole. He's also a misinformed, and quite stupid political hack that makes his "crap" writing hard to read and impossible to agree with.
