49ers have traded a 6th round pick for former Jacksonville QB Blaine Gabbert. If you assume they move forward with him as the #2 that's probably the end for Colt.

Boooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!

Someone posted on our FB page about how McCoy will win in the preseason and Gabbert sucks. Yeah, Gabbert does, but you dont trade a draft pick for a back up QB you have no intention of keeping....well, unless your the Browns or something.

No worries, Jerrah is going to split Ware's salary up amongst two "can't miss" prospects from the Arena League.

wow. the impact on colt's future there notwithstanding, i wouldn't have traded a used jockstrap for gabbert.

I have to clarify, yes McCoy is a FA, but this would block him re signing. Given the low interest elsewhere, that probably ends it for Colt.

Wish he would have been drafted somewhere other than Cleveland

I wouldn't be surprised to see the Texans at least give a look at Colt.
I dont think you can know what will happen there except that there will now be competition for the backup job

The coaches will watch and see who performs better and the other guy will be cut.

If Colt is cut, I expect he will land on his feet somewhere as a backup, and you never know, fate my intervene and give him a chance as a starter if someone is injured.

Hell, Dallas should give Colt a look. It sounds like current back-up, Orton, is mulling retirement.

Of course, DAL should've given VY a look last year and didn't.
