Marcus Smart receives 3 game suspension

The Big 12 handed down a 3 game suspension for Oklahoma State guard Marcus Smart for pushing a fan.

Smart will not play in the Texas game on Tuesday and will return 3 games later against the Red Raiders.

Plenty of stupidity from both Smart and the "super" fan. Not that it matters to us, but that guy is not attending and more home games for the year. He is saying that he did not say anything racist. I personally did not see the incident other than what has been posted on t news outlets.

Marcus Smart simply has to be smarter than that, pardon the pun. You have to be focused with what's going on the court, not the stands.

My coaches taught me that the team was always bigger than my own anger. They were right.

Even if they put the super fan in jail - Oklahoma State goes through a crucial three-game stretch WITHOUT their best player. That's not the case if he just keeps his cool.

I think both Smart's 3-game suspension and the Tech "super-fan's" season long ban are both fair punishments. I'd love to know what he said to incite Smart. Anybody see the buzz on Tech message boards?

The fan was not punished. The ban was self-imposed. Tech should take some action with this guy to get him under control. Reminds me of the Wild Bunch at UT baseball games, which went from hilariously funny bench jockeying to malicious taunting of players and opposing fans. Gustafson and the Ath Dept both steeped it to stop it, I was told.

Personally don't really care except smart will be out Tuesdays game... but on another note, I wonder how many fans would have been in trouble if Mack would came into the stands and pushed some fans for what they were calling him and the team last few years???
