LSU story on replacing Saban with Miles

This caught my eye from the story:

"A six-person search committee took more than a dozen flights and visited at least five cities during a five-day search preceding the Capital One Bowl."

Why are we catching a lot of flack for our advisory committee. It seems that this is not unusual.

2000-2008 were good years to be living in Baton Rouge. We had some AMAZING football going on, and I have hundreds of stories, but I'll stick with what's relevant. We knew NS wouldn't be in BR forever, he'd courted too many interviews and there was always some new rumor around town about his talking with a new pro-team. We weren't surprised to see him go. Sad, but not surprised. Now, when he did go, he swore that if he ever found himself back in the NCAA, there was one school the Tigers didn't have to worry about him going to- *drum roll* Alabama. Not only was Tuscaloosa too country, but BB's legacy was too likely to overshadow any good work he could do, AND as he stated in this article, he 'would always be a Tiger.'

So when he came to Bama, OMG, we weren't sad, we were 'rape and pillage' pissed. (Insert personal knowledge of his family.) Nick Saban has a God complex. Of course he was put out that Bertman had already lined guys up, because he got off on knowing there had been a big fight to keep him. He's oblivious like that, sure the world is revolving around him- it is. And he makes no bones about saying what he has to in order to please whoever is in the room. Terry taught him well. That said, the guy lives and breathes football, he's arguably one of the greatest. Aside from the lying, Saban is no politician, his diplomacy skills are sorely lacking, but he would KILL IT at Texas and he knows it. I wasn't the least bit surprised to see he may still be considering the move, but just as he is said to have done when he left LSU, I won't be surprised if he waits until the very last moment to make a decision. For a guy who has three National Championships under his belt, you'd think he'd be a little less flaky.

Anyway, just my late night ramblings. I'll be stoked as hell if Texas can land him, I'll forgive all of his Tiger transgressions and I'll be screaming 'Hook 'em' just like the rest of you.
