Mack Brown should be ashamed, and Dodds is culpable, as well, for allowing the buffoon to continue to coach. To think that Mack demanded to continue simply boggles the mind.

Mack was a trendsetter. Yep. Yep.

why? if you had a $5 million/yr job, YOU wouldn't want to continue it? hardly mind boggling.

and given the ego of any coach who'd had success, it's hardly a surprise that they'd think they could eventually right the ship.

but to your larger point, yes...mack/deloss clearly had gotten stale. time to move on.

Or senile, if you look at Mack's twitter-ings.

is it just me?  i for one, simply refuse to be happy, that many of our players are now signing as UFA.  this particular aspect, just reeks of patronization to me.  i simply refuse to accept pity, as per any TEXAS player...  they certainly deserve much better!

Oh, I'm upset that the third ranked class five years ago didn't produce a single draft pick. There's no excuse for that.

But the Mack regime is gone. Getting upset toward them is unproductive and meaningless since they aren't here.

Instead, I choose to be excited for the players.

i doubt the players being contacted by NFL teams feel patronized. i suspect they're grateful as hell to have an opportunity to pursue an NFL career.

and nobody 'deserves better' as it relates to the nfl draft. you are who you are.

Yesterday is yesterday.  So is this draft.

As far as Texas football is concerned, let's move forward.  Charlie Strong's Horns haven't played a regular season snap yet.

Here's to the future!

As is the case every year, once the draft comes to an end, there are many players still looking for a home. Usually, those undrafted players quickly sign with a team and get ready to go to work. Often times it is better for a player to go undrafted instead of getting picked in the final round. Players can assess their situation and see if a team has a need at their position or has shown a lot of interest in them. In some cases, players simply choose to stay closer to home. Obviously, the majority of undrafted free agents don’t make it, but there are still plenty who have made an impact.

I've never understood fans going batshit crazy over this stuff that has absolutely zero to do with them or their families.  I guess that's why "fan" is short for fanatic.

Well, Texas Longhorns football has nothing to do with me or my family, but it doesn't keep me from being excited or upset when it comes to Longhorns sports. Without fans, sports wouldn't be what it is.

Fera signs a contract with the Dolphins:

"@anthonyfera58: Sometimes you have to be patient. Very blessed to have this great opportunity with the Miami Dolphins!"

I think because people need some distractions in life that aren't related to their situation in life.

I am not disagreeing with you 100% but I believe some people need a distraction that makes them feel good about themselves. Fans take ownership of the team. Fandom is also a connection to relatives who have past on. So if the team fail, it's like they failed and failed their ancestors in a way.

I root for St. Louis sports teams because that's where I am from originally. It reminds me of home and the great memories I had with my family. When the Cardinals won the world Series in 2006, I finally had that connection with my father because he was alive and lucid enough to remember the 1982 World series championship. Now, my father is alive and well but when he does pass on, I will remember those times. So in a way it does have something to do with their families and pride in their community.
